Post your First Impressions of Bad Company

I got the game and will play it in a little later. I'll give my review of it later, but if anyone else has played it they can leave there oppinion of it here.

So far the bar is set by COD4 and I'll be using that as the bench mark for comarisons.

Here is some is an initial single player review. I'll post a multiplayer review tomorrow when I get to play it for more than one game.

Single player is actually a lot of fun. Its lighter and less serious than COD4 or MGS4 but it has enough unique game features that make it fun and immersive.

There are vehicles which aren't as great a combat weapon as you would think in the game. If the game gives you a tank its because they have 20 guys out there with rpgs but they are fun and good but need to be used tactically not just like uber weapons.

The weapons themselves dont offer much variety. I dont see noticeable differences between most weapons. The rate of fire/damage/range feel undistinguishable between weapons of same category (assualt rifles, LMGs, SMGs) I noticed a difference in the sniper rifles though with effective range, rates of fire, recoil and damage all being different in the 3 sniper rifles I used....but one was silenced so dont know what effect that had on its qualities.

Sniping is also fun in this game because of the very very large maps and the ranges you can fire from. Depending on the range your shot is either instantaneous or takes a half second to reach target. Forces you to lead shots at times.

The other special features are nice such as mortar fire control. Kind of like laser sighting but with mortars. Blows everything up. Everything in this game can get blown up except for natural rocks. I stood outside a town and systemactically blew up all the buildings. You can also go through a town and call in mortar fire when you engage enemy. There are 2 types of sholder rocket launchers that I used. Also laser goggle for targeting vehicles to be bombed by Air Force. Cool thing is that after the weapons release you actually control the missle.

Generally speaking. I'm much much more of a multiplayer guy and initially just played the single player to familarize myself with the game but it actually kept me playing. Its fun and I think I might beat it. However I didn't buy this game for single player and hope multiplayer is as good as its potential promised it to be or I'll be returning it after I beat it.

        -Mulitplayer review tomorrow.
