    I want more boxing games

I have Xbox 360 and PS2. What other games can I get to play on either system other than the Fight Night games. Any suggestions of what's good or what's more realistic? I'm pretty sure each system can play games from it's predecessor too. Thoughts?

IDK about the 360 but yeah PS2 can play PSX games. Have you played Victorious Boxers 2 fighting spirit for the PS2? It's a fun game old, graphics aren't outstanding but I like it. I actually like it better than the fight night series to be honest with you. Try to get the Japanese version more things to do in it I have heard.

Without a doubt Victorious boxers 2. Such a great game. Yes it looks cartoony (because it's based off Hajime no Ippo), but don't let it fool you. It's the most realistic game for the consoles you have (Boxer's road 2 on the psp is more realistic though).

With over 70 fighters, most of them feel so different from each other. Ippo, the main character, uses a peekaboo style who's very good at infighting. Miyata is a great counter person. Takamura is just very well rounded. Kimura is a great outboxer. Vorg is a hybrid fighter. The list could go on and on.

Though if you want to get even more realistic, you could make it so your ps2 can play japanese games. If you do, there's Victorious Road. It's a game part of the Victorious Boxers series, but the Create a boxer mode is AMAZING. It's so indepth. You manage your weight, stats like punch power, rush speed, hand speed, footwork speed, stamina, endurance, health, fatigue, bad health, fat, etc. You create diets to manage the weight. It's really complex. You can even win realistic belts like the WBC, WBA, WBO/IBF(only if you start off in America though because Japan doesn't recongize these belts). It's very very deep. Can be hard too if your boxer doesn't have that great of stats like mine does (**** I am having such problems against the OPBF lightweight champ).

The only thing it doesn't have is cash, which leads us to:

Boxer's road 2 for the psp!

It's a game that uses the Victorious boxers ingine, but it has real japanese boxers in it (Hozumi Hasegawa, something with an n Daisuke, eagle kyowa) and has an even more deep system like cash. It fixes most of the mistakes that Victorious road made (Spamming body uppercuts, high punch connections, getting flown across the ring with getting hit with a good shot). For CAB there's also a ****ing photo option that you can use your picture or other pictures (like bernard hopkins) to create your own boxer. It's amazing.

The game is very worth getting. I'd recommend getting a psp for it even.

Also people might be disapointed about the no famous boxers like Ali or Fraizer. Well they actually have some of them in Career mode under different names (Ali is Ari Thompson, Mike Tyson is Mike Dynamite Taylor, Jack dempsey is Jack denpsey, Felix trinidad is Phienox Trinidad, George Foreman is Big Jorge, etc.) BR2 is kinda disapointing when it comes with the famous boxers under different names though because they have different hairstyles and look different, while in VR they look exactly like them (Tyson looks so much like young tyson it's unbelieveable). Also about BR2 the belts are under changed names do to ****ty copyright (WBC is WBS).

Still very great game. Best boxing game out there.

Oh yeah, someone mentioned Knockout Kings. Pretty great game. I perfered 2001 over 2002 though by far. Get that if you want to try it. Though the VB series still blows it out of the water.

I know. EA is the only one putting out games and they're a ****ing disgrace. All their games have nice cosmetic features like menues, music, graphics, (not fightnight though especially the music) and all have **** gameplay. Seriously round 2 and 3 are sorry excuses for boxing games. Give me sega genesis greatest heavyweights over that or N64 knockout kings.

There needs to be another company besides EA to make boxing games or they'll always be ****.

Which version of Knockout Kings would you guys suggest? I've also heard that 2001 was one of the best ones. Any truth to that?

Yeah. I've played 00, 01, and 03 (which is basically 02 for the gamecube). 01 is by far the best.

Though victorious boxers 2 still beats them all.

Also 2k sports needs to make a boxing game. They should team up with the makers of VB/BR series and produce it so it comes out in America with Famous pro boxers.

Yeah, you've got me kinda excited about that victrious boxer 2 game. I like the idea of building your career with the close attention it sounds like they pay to it, doing the dieting and all. I like playing with fighters that are real, but that sounds like it could make up for it. Im gonna try to get my hands on that. Thanks for the info.

Well the career mode is only in Victorious Road, which you have to make your ps2 be able to play japanese games. It's easy though. You have to get these pieces called magic keys and put then into your ps2, and then buy a disc called swap magic. You can google more of it, since that was really a brief explanation.

Though I'd just buy a psp and import Boxer's road 2 if I were you, since the PSP is region free. That and Boxer's road 2 fixes up the mistakes that VR made. Hopefully there will be a BR3 though, since the pro boxers under different names (Ari) look totally different in each game/ don't even really look like theirself, unlike VR which they do.

Also for diets and stuff go to Dynamiteglove.com and their forums. They have some really good guides.
