Hey everyone. I am 16 years old, 5'11" tall, and weight a mere 125-130 lbs. I only recently became interested in boxing and am planning to join a boxing gym come september. Before my interest in boxing, I had begun weight training and eating more in order to gain muscle and put on weight. However I am now debating whether to continue doing this or not. I could just remain in this weight class and do boxing related exercises (heavy bag, speedbag, running, skipping, push-ups etc. . . ) or I could first put on some weight/mass, and then begin with full boxing training. At 5'11" and 125 lbs I am very thin. What do you think I should do??? What are the amateur weight classes? Thanks any help would be very appreciated.,,,

I'd say stick to your natural build. Thats not saying you can't do any strength training but I wouldn't bulk up deliberately. You're lucky that you can get to 125lbs.
