I've got no style - Advice please?

Hey guys. I've been training for about 6 months. A new trainer came in tonight to do some padwork and he said to me ''so whats your style mate'' and I said well I don't have one, I just wing it when I train, like do my best.

Here is some sparring from the other day. I didn't mean to knock my mate over, I just wanted to push him off me.

P.S Yes I know I suck and I need to better my fundamentals. Tonight this trainer showed me the philly shell and I want to try to incorporate that into my sparring so that I have more defense. Any advice would be great please guys, I mean how do you even get a style? does it come naturally or does your trainer just show you one way?

Style comes with time and experience, you can not expect a style straight away. My guard is now much more relaxed to when i first started fighting (about 10 years ago). I would have my hands by my head perfect text book guard even when i was way outta range. Now i am guarded when im in range, but when their is zero threat and good distance between us like 5-6 feet or so, my hands are more at my chest

Its hard to explain but with time/experience everyone develops a style

Come on man, you didn't have to throw him across the ring like that, lol. I thought you looked good, I really like that hook to the body when he was crowding you against the ropes. Just make sure to keep your guard up when in range. It looked a couple times like you were open. Just keep practicing, it will come together
