                knowledge of not only the technical aspect of the sport but how the body and mind works as well.

                another very important thing is the trainers ego cant be too big.

                i used to have a trainers whos ego was out of control and it kept getting in the way. he was a terrible fighter himself and always felt like he had something to prove as a trainer, as a result he would take over way too much and not allow me or anyone else to make a single decision in the ring for ourselves. it was like he wanted to tie strings to us and control us like puppets. he always refused to explain himself and you could never have a discussion with him of any kind, dude was a total dictator. on top of that he really didnt know anything about boxing, it was a nightmare. turned me off the sport for years, i never really got the same passion back tbh.

                  i totally understand how that feels, although im lucky enough to have a less exaggerated trainer you described :P just a bit of ego

                    to me its a trainer who makes a good connection with his fighters, a bit hard nosed but not too much and he needs to know how to work with all of his fighters differently. Adapt his coaching to the fighters strenghts and needs
