What are your goals for the gym Barry?

Is it purely a commercial venture or are you looking at developing an amateur boxing club and building a team?

Looks very posh - I suspect the rent won't be cheap.

Have you committed to taking on this space or are there other options you are looking at?

The rent won't be an issue I have some awesome sponsors. I put in a lot of work globally the last 6 years.

We are going to have an american style gym. i dont want to be the head coach or nothing. just a trainer. yes we will develop talent and continue to work with our boxing and mma clients. but instead of having to travel so much these people now have a comfortable environment to come to.

i have been around a lot of businesses and posh, upscale is the membership we want than i dont have to base my income off fighters alone.

we have looked at many spaces but this place is a gem. it's tailor made for success especially here in oslo

Floor area is very small, if you have members coming by appointment then you could account for space by the numbers there at one time. To have an open gym (members come anytime) your going to be "tiny"!
To me it looks like you could do a 15sq. ring and drop bags around it then go to the walls to hang speed, and more wall space for mirrors. Mirrors will imporove the overall look but bodies will eat up your sq. footage!!
I might be getting decieved a little by the camera but it looks real small to me!!
I ran an open and by appointment gym so my area was over 6,000sq ft with a full Everlast 22" set up in it. Also a prep room with a 13sq ring with the slowest floor ever stepped on hahahaha I miss it!!! hahaha!!!

Just sit there for a while and visualize the set up! Ray

That's quality insight! The camera does not do it justice. Right now as you said I have a lot of visualization to do. However the location and modernness of this building sales itself as long as I'm not the main attraction.

I have a question for you Barry, I saw it's in Norway. Now, isn't boxing in Norway banned?

I'm not sure but I think it's banned in all of the Nordic countries. So not being negative (so don't get all upset) but why are you opening a boxing gym in Norway?

Is it just for training purposes? So people can get in shape, that type of thing?

Professional Boxing is illegal in Norway. amateur boxing is not. Denmark, Sweden, and Finland have big promotions all the time.

The best female boxer in the world is Norwegian and in the next year or 2 pro boxing will be legal here.

Norway is the richest nation in the world and boast the best quality of life. Norway is in a huge growth movement including the legalization of boxing here. I enjoy growing with something. Sure I could move home and crush it....however I love my life here and business possibilities.

I'm not rich yet so yes my business motto is membership. That makes it easier for me to train athletes and future athletes.

Overall I like living in the richest nation in the world with the best quality of life. I enjoy being able to take weekend trips to any number of countries. This is a great hub to travel to different cultures spontaneously. I think I'm lucky to be able to have a business here and more importantly a family. My daughter is starting her life in the green and for that I am happy here.

Also people that train in Mexico fight in America sometimes. Some Swedish fighters fought in Denmark, etc etc etc. If you have a passport you can live in your home country but still fight anywhere.
