I get these too sometimes, I feel like I have a headache but its usually tension from your neck, nothing to worry about unless you cant talk write or walk. Other than that id say its your neck or traps from tightening up.

Yeah, headaches are normal after any kind of physical exercise - even if it's just a particularly tough work out. It doesn't come much more physical than getting punched in the face so nothing to worry about, just keep those hands up lol.

Yes but if you throw up Id go to the Dr. Just a suggestion, I rub CBD oil on my kids heads and neck before sparring and I give them a tincture droplet after. Id suggest anyone that fights do the same.

Yes, could indicate a concussion if vomiting is involved.

Never. Only time punches even hurt was when I wasn't sparring for a while. Spar regular, feel little until my bell got rung. If you getting headaches just from punches, might be time to hang them up.

I can't remember the fighter who recently retired, but he did so after getting headaches after fights that lasted for days

Totally! Most people would be like duh, get punched in the head you should get headaches, but that's not exactly true. There are a lot of factors to consider.
                  • Were you in a professional fight for 6-12 rounds or was it sparring for 2-3?
                  • What's your diet like? Maybe you're perpetually dehydrated. Vital minerals, what are you eating?
                  • Do you get headaches regularly?

I could go on and on with these examples. If homeboy is getting headaches, he needs to take some time off and get his diet right, get hydrated number 1. Shut all sparring down for a month. Once he's got everything lined up, dial back in and take it easy with the intensity. Keeps getting headaches, talk to a doctor and be prepared to hang them up. Boxing is great for a lot of reasons, but taking damage which can turn into permanent damage isn't one of them.

There was a guy in my second to last gym that had wild gym wars. He was a amateur but sparred with pro's that had titles, I sparred him too. He was the guy that would take 2 to give 1 (trust me, he always got the 2 lol) and he ended up getting some brain problem, had to quit for life. You could see him get punchy over time, not cool, great guy, good friend.

Some comments here, that it's normal to get headache after sparring.
It ain't. It's your brain arguing, that it doesn't like the treatment and is getting hurt.

                    Let's post this again:

When I First started boxing and sparring I clearly remember I had a mild headache for around a month. But you adjust and it goes away. If it’s not
Going away definitely see a dr.
There is a world champion level retired boxer at who trained at my gym who was a take 2 to give 1 type of fighter. He is probably about 55 right now and has had full blown dementia for almost 10 years. I stopped being able understand what he was saying 16 years ago.
