    Sparring with contacts?

Has anyone done that? Prescription contact lenses that is. I plan on getting back to sparring sometime in the summer but i'd have to wear contacts cuz my vision got pretty blurry. But i was thinking about it, like what if i get hit pretty good around the eyes, wouldn't that mess up my contacts? At the same time, i wouldn't think so because they would just 'reset' and reposition themselves.

    What do you guys think?

I spar a guy with contacts regularly. one fell out once but it that's a very small percentage of the rounds that it has effected.

cant you take them out just for training? or is your vision not that good? anyway i dont think you can damage the contact lenses, its more likely that your eye would take damage first. also you can spar with contact lenses on, maybe if you get hit in the eye in the right angle at some point one lense could fall out or something like that but its not something thats gonna happen all the time unless you dont have the right lenses (size etc) on. they should stick to your eye

          I have

I have sparred with soft contacts on many times. 90% of the time, no problem. But we aware, that people with bad eyesight are more prone to detached retinas because of the shape of their eyeball. So look for warning signs such as floaters, split vision, etc.

hey, good question. I can't spar without contacts due to my extremely poor vision but its never been a problem for me. I recently found out that i have astigmatism and got contacts for that and those work better than the other ones because they're more moist. eyedrops before sparring help alleviate dryness

Interesting. Yea, i have astigmatism too and my contacts last a pretty long time (4-6 weeks). I was mostly wondering if they would move around on my eye when you get hit.
