Creatine monohydrate has been shown to increase the body very important high energy chimical called Creatine Phosphate by about 20 percent. Creatine phosphate help to keep ATP levels high, and if you know a good deal about fitness you know that without ATP you would not even be able to do the simplest thing like getting up from seated postion, let alone very powerful contraction like running, throwing, or punching. If ATP stays high that mean more power endurance, for greater periods of time. Which in turn improves overall endurance.

When you’re in the ring, you’ll settle for a decision on points – if you have to. But lets be real: you’re in the ring to send a message – you’re in the ring to win and score a knockout, and that’s the bottom line. You want to deliver your message with a black-eye.

To deliver your message in this way, you need to have endurance, energy, and every punch needs to be explosive, well-placed and painful for your opponent.

Creatine monohydrate is the world’s most popular supplement and it can help to greatly improve your energy levels and explosive strength. The more muscle you have, the more strength and power you have. If you lose muscle you lose the ability to be effective in the ring. Creatine can prevent muscle loss.

Creatine has been scientifically proven to improve memory, thinking ability, and hand-to-eye coordination. By increasing your thinking abilities, creatine will help you keep the mental edge - and every warrior knows that the mental edge can be the difference between victory and defeat.

Creatine can be “loaded” into muscle tissue by taking twenty grams per day for five days, followed by five grams daily for an eight-week period.

A more effective way to dose creatine is to take ten 2.5gram doses daily. This protocol will ensure maximum absorption and maximum results. Because excess sugars can result in body fat accumulation, taking creatine with water is best.

        Information on Creatine:

Looks like a good idea to me. When you take it, take it like this:

Obviously, an individual's capacity to store creatine should ultimately depend on the amount of muscle mass they possess. For this reason exactly you should adjust your creatine dose to match your bodyweight (a rough approximation of muscle mass). According to Hultman et al. (4) during the loading phase take 0.3 grams of creatine monohydrate for each kilogram you weigh. The maintenance dose is 10-times less, or 0.03 grams of creatine monohydrate per kilogram of body weight. To calculate you creatine dose in pounds simply divide your bodyweight in pounds by 2.2; 1 kilogram = 2.2 pounds. In other words, an "average" sized male of 154 pounds, weighs 70 kilograms, or 154 divided 2.2. The next step is to multiply your weight in kilos by the appropriate dose. For example, our average person would load with 21 grams of creatine monohydrate per day (0.3 x 70 = 21) and maintain with 2.1 grams of creatine monohydrate daily (0.03 x 70 = 2.1). (Taken from )

I would say it is a good idea, when you get off of it you won't loose all you gained from it either. You might lose a bit of muscle though. I'd say it is a good idea. No really bad side effects have been scientifically proven.

I am very excited about Pacquiao KOing this incredibly annoying Vargas. Vargas has a new bragging statement out daily about how he will KO Pacquiao without a doubt. How he doesn't want to hear any excuses after he KOs Pacquiao. How he is a young Marquez with incredible punching power and the new superstar. All this bragging from a guy who lost 11 of 12 rounds to Bradley not long ago. The same Bradley who Pacquiao just recently beat quite easily. Vargas has a KO percentage way below 50%. He has several wins that should have been losses. His bragging is getting on my last nerve and I am very excited about the strong possibility of Pacquiao knocking him out and putting him in his place.

Sorry, wrong thread. I thought this was the how excited you are about the Vaegas vs Pacquiao fight thread. As far as taking creatine goes, if it helps you fight better then take it.

It's perfectly fine. Helps water retention. Just don't bloat yourself, can work against you.

I'm excited about 3/10 by the way.

I used to take creatine for a little bit. I had no complaints. Don't know exactly how much it helped me. I did look bigger and I did gain a little bit of weight, but I don't know if that really equates to strength. As soon as I stopped taking it, the 'gains' went away.

I know that my cousin took it for years when he was playing football. The dude looks like a walking tank. His arms are like tree trunks.

There is a lot of misinformation in this thread. I'm wondering where people get their info from.

You DO NOT need to cycle creatine. LOL. It's not a fucking steroid. The only reason you would need to cycle it would be if you were trying to lose weight for a weigh in as it can make you gain a few pounds. There is also no evidence suggesting that it is harmful to your kidneys either. I see that posted a lot but haven't seen one shred of evidence to support the claim. Creatine monohydrate is one of the most tested supplements ever in the fitness industry.

Also, taking creatine is not going to make you turn into the Incredible Hulk. It will help you add a few pounds to your lifts and/or get an extra rep or two. It can make your muscles look fuller because it will make them retain more water. For some, it does nothing.

its been proven to be safe many many times, its the most tested supplement of all times. Your aunt may be getting it mixed up with creatinine which is used to assess kidney function, not the actual supplement.
