Few questions about Reyes lace up training gloves...

I've been in the market for gloves since i got my gear stolen out of my car a couple months back. Had some 16 oz lace up Grants for sparring and Fighting gloves for everything else. I got a new pair of fighting, just cause I think they are the most comfortable glove I've ever worn, more so than the Grants, but have been going back and forth on what I should do as far as sparring gloves. The Grants I had were Great quality, and they fit pretty well and always did the job, but I'm considering going another direction for a change of pace and I had a few questions regarding the Reyes gloves.

    1) Do Reyes gloves really hurt THAT bad to get hit with? I've heard there solid, which I mean it's boxing so I don't mind too much, granted I don't want to kill my sparring partner.

    2) I see some on numerous sights, some which say "Hecho Mexico" and others say "Cleto Reyes" towards the fist area of the glove. Is there any difference?

    3) I believe I read that ones ordered from a specific site, or sold out of Mexico are made out of different material or are better quality or something of the sort, is there any truth to this?

    4) Do these NOT look like different types of leather?

Amy help/advice/insight/info on vendors would be greatly appreciated. My last thread on Grants v Reyes was overran by a few people with pages of **** talking, so I really want to try and keep this on topic. Thanks!

I bought a pair of 16 oz cleto reyes gloves from ringside a couple years ago.. They are definitely a punchers glove, very tight and compact and the leather was real hard and solid, takes some time to break them in.. Great for bag work and the mitts but I myself wouldn't use them for sparring.

      1) they are solid. so are grants. and if you wear headgear you wont notice a difference unless you spar somebody that is only used to getting hit with pillows. people see pacman cut people and then praise his reyes pro fight gloves and they think this is the same thing that happens when you used 16 oz training gloves

      2) the ones that have "hecho en mexico" written on them are older versions

      3) yes there is a difference. they look different and im pretty sure the quality is not in the same ballpark. i got mine straight from mexico and when i need some more ill buy them again from mexico because those are the original reyes gloves. if you spend that much dough on reyes you wanna make sure you get the original reyes

      4) no clue. i dont think you can say that based on the pictures they are showing.

Yeah I noticed on ringside that the cleto reyes are slightly different... same with the grants.. anyone know if the grant gloves that ringside have are of the same quality or is it just better to order from grantboxing?
