is it normal for my hands to break when punching without gloves.

About 3 days ago I got into a fight with a drunk because I was supposedly looking at him wrong or some **** like that. I've done amateur boxing for more than 2 years. It was the first streetfight I was in since I started boxing. Anyways yeah I was trying to go knockouts and his chin. I was ****ing my knuckles in his face as hard as I could I tried to get some nice shots but he was just trying to wrestle me. It just ended up with him on the ground with a really bloody face I cut him up really ****ing bad. I ran after the fight. Both my knuckles are swollen and purple and are making a cracky noise. Also I sprained my right wrist really bad I threw a straight right into the guys forehead and my wrist bent. Both my hands ****ing hurt. I have to type this post with one hand.

Is this normal I never broke my hands during boxing but suddenly when I fight with no gloves my hands feel like they are going to break apart into pieces.

That's what you get for drinking.

Go to the doctor. Get some X-Rays. That's your best bet. Don't come on a forum. If you hear something cracking then something is wrong.

If you're an AM boxer you should know better not to be fighting. Plain and simple. If you broke your hands, thats your fault.

I wasn't drinking I walked home through a street that has many bars and while I was at a bus stop some drunk dude was harassing me.

To be honest though I really wanted to see what I could do to him but I really didn't expect for my hands to fall apart like that or that his head would be so hard.

I know what happens now though so I guess I'll think twice. Imma go see my doctor, but does it usuually happen for other people too?

Yes, it usually happens to people.

Even though you box, you have to consider the 4-8 inches of padding between your fist and your opponent's face. All that stuff goes away on the street.

Hands are one of the most fragile parts of our body but because us as Humans use our hands for everything, we tend to fight with them too. So, it's no surprise that you may have broke them like candy canes. lol

also the possibility you wernt throwing correctly. you must have been doing something terribley wrong if you had to throw that many punches without knocking him out
