punching power comes from mostly your midsection and torso... build that up

first of all i would advice u not to work on your punching power at this stage. if u dont know how to increase the power of your shots u are likely a beginner, in which case punching power should be nowhere on your radar as far as training is concerned. everybody wants to hit hard but if u are serious about boxing put that off until later.

but to answer your question its all about technique. feet, hips and shoulders. pivot your feet, twist your hips and put your shoulder into it and you will throw with your whole bodyweight. once u get good form and put these three togheter u will generate maximum power. once u got that down work on your handspeed, shadowboxing with light weigths is the best way for that. mass x velocity = force but remember, punchers are born, not made. and what i told u to begin with, power does u no good if u dont have the skills to deliver. work on the basics first or you will be the one tasting your oponents punching power instead. good luck.

what he said hah. look at cotto. he's got a ******* loaded in that left had and he doesnt even unleash 60% of his power on his counter jabs and he's put down a couple of people. its the skills you learn that allow you to utalize what you have. being able to use your timing and get off your punches and actually land.

Punching power is for the most part genetic or you are more or less born with it. Punching power also involves years of training and learning how to properly punch in the first place

Punching involves your whole body Legs, Hips, Core, etc.

George Foreman used to chop wood for hours a day which was how he supposedly got his power.

There is now a modern day method to that and that's get a tire and a sledgehammer and basically beat the **** out of it. It's a staple part of my routine.

The there are Med Ball Slams, Decline Russian Twists, Deadlifts, Hyperextensions, lots of stuff that involves core rotation will aid in developing power

when you want to increase your power to the maximum stage, you have to use ur whole body at the punch

i opt for a round on the heavy bag with really light gloves maybe an ounce or 2 pretty much just leather gloves. then a round with those everlast gel wrap glove things then a round with 12 oz then a round with 16 oz then a round with the really light leather gloves again.

each round i dont worry about anything other then hitting the bag as hard as i can (no dancing no stance no guard) though whiel doing that i concentrate on making a fist at the last second, rotating my body pivoting off my foot and swinging as had as fast i can.

you can also try digging a moat with a 16 lb pick axe or digging out stumps with a 16 lb pick axe

there is some very wrong advice here.

too many bull**** myths like punchers are born. yeah, some with a good punch may want you to think that so that u dont try to build a stronger punch. or like legendary jack dempsey says, they just forgot about the hard work they did and end up thinking that they were born special.

fact is, any person alive can increase punching. and i mean more than just by a little bit.

and mass times speed is not even half of the equation as the human body isnt a stick figure. ****, even a stick figure has more variables.

mass and velocity are extremely simplistic and crude rules of physics. and following such faulty logic will only hurt you.
