Opinions and info on amatuer to pro

I am just wondering what you guys know about it especially in the UK.What does it take to pick up a pay check, have you got to be on a different level or can you buy a pro boxing licence in the UK. Have you got to have a decent amatuer career or would you say it's like a different sport amatuer to pros. What about hand size , would you say you've GOT to have big hands or can you just build on them. Also what kind of money does the average journey man make roughly a guy who would probably be win half lose half . Just wondering man .Any help and info would be great thanks

Hand size is essential, if your hands are over 10 inches in diameter then it is likely you will be refused a boxing licence. Be sure to put your hands on a diet before you visit the British Boxing Board and good luck

Hand size has no bearing. But in the UK no amateur experience is required but you do have to spar with someone chosen by the BBB to prove you can defend yourself. Average journeyman about 500 per fight.

Haha. I watched a video of Frank Maloney and he said it's one of the first things he checks when looking at a boxer the size of his hands

If you don't have much amateur experience, you're going to be used to pad other boxer's records. Like someone else said, they will put you in with a guy who has a lot of amateur fights so that they can beat you easily. The best thing to do is to build an impressive amateur resume so that you can get a promotional contract that enables you to get fights you can win.
