That's how your post comes across. I'm definitely not judging you as a person, cause then I would be ignorant. I believe anyone can learn to box or even be a pro, and should never let age, fitness or whatever hold them back.

Your post gives me the impression that you think cause you are a bouncer and have been in fights and like hitting the heavy bag you are ready to go now...

    Do you have a trainer?

if you enjoy street fighting, give dana white a call. don't assume that being in the ring is easy. your first time in the ring will not be an easy experience. I'm sure you can **** on the heavy bag and be real loud and scary and i'm also sure that if you were put in the ring with someone your size who had their game together you'd get beaten, bloodied and battered for every single second of each and every round.

that being said, if you work hard and learn the sport you'll do well.

It's not your fault for assuming these things, really. You're more than likely a small town guy, that has dealt/heard of small town bouncers, right?

I'm not ignorant. I use what I was blessed with as a job for now, I don't think the way that you think I do. I'm a humble person, but thanks for making a rude generalization anyways.

I never said that it would be easy. I'm also pretty sure I never said that I had any idea what it's like to be in an amateur boxing match. I would certainly hope if someone trains every day to box, that they would be able to do that to me.

An experienced boxer will embarrass a street fighter in the ring. I've seen it happen countless times at my gym.

I agree 100%. I don't understand why people think I am claiming to be a good boxer, I clearly said that I've never done any amateur boxing.

I come to the conclusion that you associate boxing/bouncing/street fighting together, because you linked these ideas together in your own post. I have no further opinion about what you think of these things... I have no idea.

And now for your assumption of me... CLASSIC! I love it.

I don't live in a small town, but I do like them. They have cheap beer, great fish and chips and you can do cool stuff like fishing and roo shooting.

I've lived in about 15 countries, and all of them had small towns... except for some reason I've never had a problem with bouncers. Actually, lots of my friends work in security or in clubs and pubs and I've done so myself.

                  Oh, and I'm not a guy. I'm a girl for god's sake.

yeah, it's all about skills and technique, i've seen a few "king of the streets" types get schooled when they step into a real ring... there's no substitute for proper technique, especially knowing how to cover up. i've seen and been in a few streetfights with untrained guys, and they never know how to cover up and protect themselves

Yes true but a good boxer isn't neccasry a good street fighter either, because on the streets people use weapons, wrestling, kicking, charging etc... Reason boxing is a sport is because of the rules/styles etc that go with it. Hence the fact Naseem Hamed got battered in a pub recently. (my mate from sheffield said that hes always getting in trouble since the hit and run incident).
