    Post and Pre Workout Nutrition

What should boxers be eating post and pre workouts. Im guessing it would be different than a body builder. I am 152lb and trying to maintain my weight but maybe loose some body fat and replace it with muscle. Also when i mean workout i mean boxing not weight lifting.

Should we eat carbs, protein, fat....... Post and pre workout.......

i know complex carbs are good (ie. rice, pasta) an hour or 2 before training

a lot of times I'll have honey with oatmeal afterwards -- honey helps to replenish the glycogen lost in muscles during the workout; i'll usually have a banana as well because it's useful to have some fast-acting carbs after the workout since that's when your body needs it most; usually a cup of milk too for the protein

that's at least the impression i'm under

What everyone is telling you is right. carbs before (I eat 1 or 2 bananas 1 hour before) protein after. I go to the gym before supper and eat when I get home.

after training its good to get something with sugar on it, and protein of course to repair the damage to the body, even if it sounds weird having a coke just after training does good to you, refilling glycogen its very important after a hard workout, and coke or something with sugar on it works wonders, for protein you can have anything, from a shake to a can of tuna, so yeah you can have a can of tuna and a coke and that would work wonders,
its also cheap and easy to get.

When you say Coke I assume you're talking about Coca-Cola, the Soda. I would disagree with you, because Coke actually has very little to no sugar in it. The sugars you're referring to are actually High-Fructose Corn syrup, which is extremely bad for you. 1 can of coke is 140 empty calories, which can hurt the results of your workout.

Just adding my "two cents" though.

well its a very valid point, although it does help after a workout its
definitely not the healthiest option, Sugars such as Maltodextrine and Dextrose post workout are optimal for replenishing muscle glycogen. Table sugar is made up of 40% fructose so thats a good choise too, but cmon i am trying to make it easier, here. a coke and a can of tuna its an easy and affordable meal that will give you resuts, but definitely not the best choise for a meal again.
