Is the poster "BKM-" right about a 17yo HS wrestler being able to beat prime M Tyson?

I know this was awhile ago, but it actually got me thinking last night....

So I was in my living room on the lazyboy recliner with all of the lights off at 3 in the morning with a 40 in one hand and a nice fat blunt in the other while watching some boxing re-runs when it hit me........

The poster BKM- stated a few months ago that if a 17 year old high school wrestler got into a street fight with prime Mike Tyson, the high school kid would win.

Here are the quotes. Anyone want to chime in on this?

A 17 year old high school wrestler would slam prime Tyson's head on the concrete floor and win.

Boxers can't even stop EACHOTHER from clinching, and their form of grappling is actually giving the advantage to the grappler by giving up underhooks.

Boxers are punchers. That's all they can do. Avoiding it is easy, just dive for the legs.

What's he gonna do? His only effective way of fighting is his boxing, he has nothing else.

There's no such things as a mythical "street fighting" style. That BS kung fu like biting or groin hits won't work plus a grappler would use those tactics far better than a boxer.

If you asked me to bet money on that fight, I would sell everything I own and put my money on Tyson. People think that boxers are just one-dimensional punchers with no athletic ability outside of a left jab and right hand. A prime Mike Tyson would be a lot stronger than the average 17 year old wrestler, and that wrestler would only have one chance to get it perfect. I don't see that happening.

No. If nobody has ever thrown live punches at you, you won't know how to react or how to position yourself.

Grapplers with zero striking at all will get knocked out.
Strikers with zero grappling will get manhandled.

But when you have a striker with no grappling vs a grappler with no striking, you default to who is the better athlete/who is better in their discipline. A world champion boxer would catch a high school wrestler coming in and KO him.

A more wrestler with similar as athleticism and a comparable level of skill in his own sport would be much more interesting against Tyson.

Why don’t you learn wrestling for a few years and then go pick a fight with any elite Heavyweight boxer, and tell us how it works out for you.

LOL I think Posters above need to go to wrestling camp and get humbled. Anybody here that has wrestled knows they can take down anybody that don't have any experience in wrestling down at will. 17 yr old would take Tyson down in seconds and beat him.
Tyson is a boxer not a wrestler. Wrestlers dictate where the fight takes place.

what good is boxing skills if you're on the ground?


when a wrestler vs a striker fight starts. the boxer literally has 1 shot to KO the guy or he's going to lose. what are the odds you throw a first punch and it ends in a KO? 0.01%?

what are the odds the wrestler gets the takedown on the boxer on a shoot? 99%?

One hundred percent that these monsters would grab any pure boxer and get a takedown and you know what's gonna happen to the back of Tyson's head when it hits concrete? LIGHTS OUT.

Concrete streets are a different animal. Even a "gentle" takedown results in broken bones. Read about the scuffle between Wanderlei Silva and Chael Sonnen on the TUF show. Combat sports have designed a special soft canvas that enables guys to fall unconcious on it and not die.

Always funny to break the news to boxing purists who have never grappled once in their entire lives.

If we are talking a grown ass man MMA fighter who wrestled at a decent level in college and has BJJ and striking skills though? different story.
