MGM Grand, Las Vegas - WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (46-0, 26KOs) denied published reports that there are "secret negotiations" taking place for a potential mega-fight with WBO champion Manny Pacquiao.

Top Rank's CEO, Bob Arum, was quoted by several outlets as stating that there are "serious discussions" taking place, and both Showtime and HBO are onboard with the match. Mayweather says that information "is false."

Let's be honest here nobody is checking for pacmans upcoming fight.

It really is pathetic, man. I think they've actually put together a pretty good undercard for the Pacquiao/Algieri fight, but it's completely classless and wrong to talk about non-existent Mayweather negotiations in order to promote their own event and boost ppv buys.

It's the fault of both sides that this fight has never (and likely will never) been made. Arum has always said "we're ready to fight. the phone line is open 24/7." You jackass, why would Floyd and Showtime call THEM? Floyd is the one who has managed to stay on top and undefeated. The legwork to get this **** done should be up to Top Rank and HBO. Let's face it, neither side wants to make the fight. If they did make the fight, someone's cash cow would have to lose, and God forbid that ever happen. So let's get Mayweather/Khan and Pacquiao/Chaves or whoever the **** they can drum up after November. Sometimes I don't know why I even love this sport.
