All 3 of Bute's last opponents have come off losses

How can anyone respect this guy?

Carl Froch, coming off a loss to A. Ward

Glen Johnson, coming off a loss to Carl Froch

Jean Paul Mendy, coming off a DQ win to Sakio Bika (Bika was winning, knocked him down, and hit him whilst he was down - that's why he was disqualified)

I'm am not a really big fan of him so I really have no opinion. But why was Ward vs. Bute not made?

Ward wanted Bute to beat a top fighter, like Dirrell and Kessler. Then the fight will be made.

Yes a top fighter like Dirrell, Kessler or Froch.

No doubt Bute has a terrible resume especially considering how long he has had a belt and his age, Froch is a clear step up for him despite coming off a loss and being on the toughest straight run of opponents out of anyone in boxing.

I hope Froch knocks him out but I cant help feel he may be slightly battle worn at this stage.

I don't mind Bute, but his resume for a world champion is disgraceful.

All in all I expect a great action fight here that can go either way. If Bute does manage to win, Ward will be waiting in the wings to hand him an ass-whooping.

Why would Ward say that? If Froch beats him then there goes the credit Ward could have had in beating him. Who is Ward planning to fight now? Sorry I haven't kept up with the latest in boxing news.

well there was that whole super six thing...
and he can/could get the same or very similar money for fighting these guys as he can get fighting more dangerous non - tourney types

he also beat a lot of the other names out there already that werent obligated to the tournament

              what did you expect?

bute is the number 2 SMW, froch is the third
and ward is the first. they offered ward a fight. i dont blame him for not taking it. the plan of the bute camp all along was to stay fresh and pounce on the guy who won the tournament who had been stringing together top flight opponents and would be be at a disadvantage fighting somebody so fresh

eventually, if one of the networks pony's up the cash and the fighters aren't obligated to anything otherwise these two will fight

Kinda hard to fight the best guys when you aren't included in the super 6 tourney which took 3 years to complete.
