Everlast are made with a foam insert that is softer. Gloves like Winning have the most padding and are considered the softest.
Either way, it doesn't feel good to get hit in the face with an 8oz glove so all that is more to do with hand protection IMO than anything else.
Back in the day, they didn't allow the fighters to wear different name brand gloves, now I see it all the time. One guy might have Everlast, while the other guy might have Reyes, it's weird.
Grants are like Reyes, made in Mexico but a little more padding than the Reyes gloves.
In contrast, gloves like Grant have a very dense wrist support and are actually harder at the fist. They are very hard to skin because of how compact the padding is and how dense the wrist is since there is padding on the wrist as well.
Grant is nothing like Reyes, have you worn them both? It's also much easiar to open and close your fist in a reyes glove as opposed to a grant glove. Grants are stiff.

Glad Khan ditched the Reeboks and is now wearing Reyes, but I think that was just to do with endorsement money.

Gloves liek reyes have very little wrist support thus allowing you to turn your wrist and knuckles into your punches more. That's in actually more so the reason its a punchers glove than others, if you have bad hands/wrists though, it wouldn't be preferred. They are also teh easiest to skin.

They are considered the puncher's glove BUT they are designed with the hand wrap that is allowed in Mexico in mind which protects your hand better and allows for more power to be delivered on the opponent and yourself.
thanks very much!
