The fact Scull had to evade laterally 90%+ of the time is proof of that.
I acknowledge Canelo is losing a step, father time will always win. Canelo should be able to cut off the ring more effectively, but to say Scull elected, on his own account, to evade laterally the entire fight out of his own accord is ascinine. He did that because he had nowhere else to go. And because the ring was constantly being cut off.
If anyone is redefining, it's yourself. And the worst thing is you're doing so with a negative fighter like Scull.
He evaded laterly because he was running away and being chased by Canelo, but that does not mean Canelo was effectively cutting off the ring, because he was just chasing him around. Cutting off the ring means cornering an opponent on the ropes and being able to land punches on him, something which Canelo failed to do. It's not rocket science. The whole point of cutting off the ring is to CATCH your opponent, not just make him run around.

It’s a lot harder than it looks on TV, especially against world-class fighters. Canelo was cutting off the ring. He was moving laterally to press Scull and was throwing hooks to try cut off his exits. That is, by definition, what cutting off the ring means. Cutting off the ring doesn’t mean throwing loads of punches on the front foot, it means you aren’t chasing a guy in straight lines.
It means catching your opponent long enough to land significant punches on him. If you only landed 55 punches on an opponent over 12 rounds, how the hell did you cut off the ring effectively??

I know its hard to cut off the ring sometimes, but you never heard that excuse for other fighters like Benavidez who just get trashed when they struggle to find Plant for 6 rounds, but when its Canelo, you are all so understanding.

Canelo has made an entire career based off of bogus fights that created the mirage that he’s this monster.
The truth is he was long exposed when he fought Mayweather and Lara.
After that the pattern was established as to how he would proceed in terms of opposition.
it took him a Period to age out Golovkin and then going forward the bulk of his resume has been abysmal with a laundry list of no hopers, mediocre opponents, old men and little guys moving up in weight.
Scully is the prototype of what is required to be in This cowards sweepstakes.
Bivol was a mistake. Team Canelo thought Bivol would follow the script because he didn’t look spectacular in his last three bouts, just looking to score points and get a decision. But they underestimated just how skilled and high iq he is and Canelo got slapped around for 9 rounds and checked out of the fight mentally as early as the mid way point. He definitely made it written in stone that Benavides would not be invited to the sweepstakes no matter how bad his ducking looked.
And yeah his sorry fanbase look even worse trying to keep boosting this fraud up and gaslighting with their laughable narratives.
So tonight why should this farce be any different??
So now we head to September for a bout with another small opponent up in age looking to upset the apple cart in Bud Crawford.
But this time it may turn out to be a mistake like Bivol was. I sincerely hope so if for anything to see this manufactured fraud get exposed again and to see how creative the gaslighters will be with the excuses and other entertaining narratives.
I am stealing this with your permission to enlighten a few idiot friends I have.

I've fallen asleep on fights before. This is the first time I can remember where I watched a few rounds and chose to go to bed lol. "I'm not watching this." How many fights this weekend were vying for "least punches thrown in a 12 round fight?" I keep hearing that boxing is a business. That phrase has been uttered by fanboys for the last 20 years. Boxing used to be the entertainment business. I'm not sure what it is now. It's clearly not a sport. If it was a sport, you'd have participants trying to win.

Well, now looks like only The Monster Naoya can save the weekend as far as Boxing concerns.

You can bet your last dollar the Monster will show out. He always does. Never ever in a bad fight irrespective of what the opponent is doing

Was a stay busy fight and part of the Crawford deal. Team Canelo didn’t want the Bud fight in SA so he gave Turki this fight and now the Bud fight will be at a stadium in Vegas.

OLD Golovkin won the first 2, the third, he stepped into the fight mid fight and Clenelo was gassing badly.
