If Stevenson was smart, he'd take that fight. An impressive win against Zepeda would put him in the negotiating driving seat. He can beat Zepeda.

He needs a big name on his resume. Zepeda is a big enough name. Stevenson needs to put his ego to the side and invest in putting himself in a position to claim real acclaim and riches.

"Some close to the situation were astonished that anyone would try to circumvent Stevenson’s tight connection to the managers, especially the hardball-playing Prince."
Translation: Those sand snakes tried to go behind James Prince back and steal Shakur for some chump change hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

I agree! I'm gonna assume that the figure Turki paid Shakur to fight Padley, was the same amount he was gonna originally pay Shakur to fight Zepeda on Riyadh. If you recall, Zepeda supposedly hurt his hand and had to pull out, so Schofield, then replaced Zepeda. After Schofield pulled out last minute, Padley stepped in and Turki ended up overpaying Shakur to fight Padley, so now Turki wants Shakur to take a lower offer to reconcile the over payment.

This goes to show that Turki is not recklessly overpaying fighters as some here have suggested. If he was, he would have agreed to paying Shakur what Shakur is asking for, which was an amount that Turki was originally agreeing to pay...

It’s not up to him, it’s up to Zepeda who seems terrified to fight the champion
