In that case they probably go for the trilogy and Benavidez will have to wait.

Yes he’s 40 years old but I find it hard to think that it will be overnight
You can clearly see him slowing down and a benavidez fight would probably be close to a year away

Morell was the guy to beat him or trouble him so now it’s Beterbiev. Let’s say he beats Beterbiev, what then?
If he beats Beterbiev, he is the MONSTER. To be the monster you have to defeat the monster and right now at LHW that is Arthur. By the way, I like Benavidez and I fully appreciate why Canelo does not want to fight him.

Hats off to Benavidez, that was his career defining victory.

Not many could do to Morrell what he did. Those body shots and a few uppercuts had an effect.

Before last night I would’ve picked beter or bivol hands down. Now I’m not quite so sure about that
I was kind of thinking the same thing as I was watching the fight. His defense was incredible and he seemed so much improved from his last outing against Gvozdyk. Morrell clearly had a lot more power than Gvozdyk but he had enormous trouble landing cleanly on Benavidez. It was a great a performance last night. After that fight I can see him giving Bivol all he can handle because of his style, but I still think Arthur is the monster in a slug fest.

I really hope Beterbiev wins the rematch decisively, so we can see him fighting Benavidez. I thought the latter had started his decline after the Gvozdyk fight, but never I've been so wrong in the last few years.

You cats are taking the “Monster” moniker too literally. Benavidez initially took that name because it sounded cool next to another word starting with “M.” Now he’s growing into it. May or may not be the guy at 175, but there’s no doubt he’s a force to be reckoned with. He’s the Mexican Monster for sure.

Really enjoyed that fight. DB starting quickly set the tone and didn't give Morrell any time to get comfortable. Definitely different that I expected early on.

It felt like Morrell had openings, but he was not willing to throw in-between as much as I thought he would. Having to defend himself and then try to answer back in spurts was tough....DB defense in that position was very good. I really left the fight being like damn how did DB not get hit by some of that. Even with the bad gameplan, lack of experience, style limitations, etc, Morrell was there all night, and if it wasn't for DB being so on his defensive game, then perhaps Morrell's power shows a little more than the couple moments he had. It's characterized as a domination and such, but I'm leaving impressed by both.

                  hell yeah

Benavidez didn't take the nickname "Mexican Monster", Mike Tyson gave it to him.
