he didnt dive, angel just saw on his sons face he dont want it anymore. I watched footage of danny in camp training and it just looked very lethargic, uninterested, going through the motions. Hes made alot of money and his heart aint in it anymore, its pretty obvious.Last edited by Southpawology; 09-15-2024, 02:14 AM.champion4ever likes this.

Yeah he quit. I personally never believed that his heart was ever in boxing in the first place.
Judging by his selection of overmatched and shopworn opponents who were all well past their primes and also the times when he fought them. Tells all we need to know about Danny Garcia.
He never wanted to be an all-time great or cared about his legacy. All he ever cared about was money. Making the most he could for the least amount of risk. Which is the reason why he never fought Mayweather, Crawford and Pacquiao.
He was simply overrated and not that good. He knew that he couldn’t compete with those guys and he feared getting his asswhooped by them too.

Sick of these guys blaming long layoffs when they barely fight anyways. That was awful. Kiss goodbye to any HOF talk.
So he simply gave up which is atypical of a champion. True champions risk taking asswhoopings. Where as Danny Garcia does not.
He spent most of his entire career avoiding them by not taking on the stiffest challenges, competition or risks outside of the ring.

I don’t believe he was ever offered a fight by Pacquiao OR Mayweather.
When he burst on the scene with the Khan and Matthysse win, the public was foaming at the mouth for Floyd/Manny. Neither star fighter were going to risk it especially when he upset Matthysse. Danny would’ve taken it, but he was never offered that. I don’t ever remember his name being brought up during those years.
He could’ve been thrown to Crawford but Haymon was freezing Crawford out of the PBC stable until they could no longer do in-house recycling.

Dude listen, this is prizefighting. Nobody has to offer you a fight in order to get one. You demand it from either your handlers or promoter.
If he really wanted those fights Haymon would have easily granted them to him. Besides, he liked Danny Garcia anyhow.
After his 2013 Lucas Matthysee victory; He could’ve
moved up to welterweight to fight Mayweather. Timothy Bradley did against Manny Pacquiao in 2012 and won.
Tim even ditched Khan for undisputed at 140 in order to do so. He held the WBO and WBC Super lightweight titles at the time while Khan held both the WBA and IBF titles.
So there is no excuse for Danny Garcia’s cherry-picking career. He took the safest and easiest route he could find for the least amount of risk and money.

With the exception of his fights with Spence, Lara, and Herrera, he did good.
This fight was just essentially a cash out. The rest he was competitive or put up a respectable showing.
