Talk about rewriting history. Bud was calling Spence out for literally years. Spence replied that it wasn't up to him, Bud was on the wrong side of the street, it has to make sense. Etc.

Canelo would get zero grief if he'd just fight his mandatories, or, relinquish the belts. He held the belts hostage for years ducking the best. There is no comparison to what Canelo has done. He just needs to vacate and fight who he wants, that is perfectly fine. But you can can't duck mandatories because you are afraid to get beat and say I will do what I want. Ok then let the best fight the best and go cherry pick.

People would have a lot more respect for that.

Garbage fight. This is Canelo’s 4th crappy fight in a row. 1 or 2 soft touches can be excused given his impressive run but 4 is outrageous.

Can Berlanga pull off the win? That would be an upset. A puncher's chance.

This could have easily been fixed if the WBC, WBA, and WBO followed their rules and forced Canela to fight Benevidez his mandatory. Now it takes Saudi blood money to get things done.

Hopefully, Turkie will stop being a fan boy and make the Canela v Benevidez and Crawfird v Boots fights. Once done, why do we need sanctioning bodies that don’t follow their rules because a Canela sanction fee is their priority.

Canela wouldn’t fight Benevidez because he’s scared to lose. Meanwhile, with the exception of the IBF who followed their rules and stripped Usyk and Canela, the WBC, WBA, and WBO have make it crystal clear that, their rules are only to be enforced when a sanction fee is more important.

Canela v Berlanga is a BS fight that only serves Canela being the chicken he has become.

Turkie, Canela v Crawford is a mismatch. That was evident last Saturday. Please put your fan boy money to use and invest in fights that Canela and Crawford are too scared to take.

Charlo, Mungia, and Berlanga are like watching the 9th version of Friday the 13th.

Sorry but there's no mystery to it, just a guy that keeps coming back to kill morons before disappearing until the next sequel.

yep there was a time not long ago when " Saul " was intouchable on most boxing forums and pods but now it has turned. so yea nice to hear nice to know those who are putting up words on the boxing sites are seeing the truth about him, i do not agree with just dont buy it if you dont like it that is garbage to me, all of boxing is slow rolling the fights people want to see and then in the mean time we get cards that are called PPV events and it is no where near an event. It keeps fight fans from sticking around it keeps new fans from into boxing it is not good for anyone but the promo boys and the platforms it just cripples boxing ............

Hey Greisman, why didn't you question Benavidez for not facing David Morrell

It's the same playbook Canelo used with GGG. Canelo held the lineal title and one alphabet belt while GGG had the was the unified champ with all 3 of the other major belts. Canelo waited out GGG for, I believe, 2 years and 2-3 fights (or close to it). He waited just long enough for age to catch up to GGG and have him slip ever so slightly. As soon as he saw that in the GGG-Daniel Jacobs fight, he took the GGG fight, even though people had been begging for that fight as soon as Canelo beat Cotto to win the lineal MW title. He finally saw GGG slip a bit and he basically ran out of other viable options, so he took the fight (and GGG winning the first fight is a hill I will die on). He'll do the same thing here. Given that he's the older fighter now, he won't be able to wait for Benavidez to slip, but he'll wait as long as he can until he has no other viable options and hope that Benavidez slips or gets beat.

Everyone knows that this isn't a Canelo-only problem in the sport, but he certainly has a history of maneuvering himself quite delicately through the business of boxing.

It's not even a business decision. The whole Mexico vs. Puerto Rico thing has been dead for 10 years. There are no good PR boxers since Cotto. Berlanga was a prospect awhile ago, and never went up a level. He's a worse version of Munguia - undisciplined with atrocious defense. At least Munguia has shared the ring with some top fighters. Berlanga just started fighting 12 rounds.

Berlanga went 12 and eked out a victory against STEVE ROLLS - same guy that Golovkin destroyed on a short notice and was called a cherrypicker. Canelo's gonna knock this guy out accidentally because his defense is so bad.

SPOT-ON article! Call Canleo’s hypocritical bs and lame excuses for not fighting Benavidez for what it is BS!
