I'm a Goodman fan, but absolutely no clue why hes fighting this unknown guy instead of nailing down the Monster fight for August/September. This fight likely insures he gets pushed back as a Monster opp til Dec or 2025 or indefinitely if he has a bad night vs this Thai guy I've never heard of.

Some of these old school, active guys got horrible logic when it comes to their best opportunities or holding back when a good opportunity goes south (Tim vs Sebastian).

Goodman got a big win vs Raeese Aleem. Aleem is a top talent.

Respect the guy for taking such a risky fight, but I am not so sure its worth risking the big payday of getting KTFO in Tokyo.

Don't think he wants to fight innoue and will try to delay the fight until innoue leaves the division then he will try to become the it guy

Doubt it. This is a career for Goodman & Monster is the money fight most ppl NEVER get especially in these lower weights.

Win or lose vs Monster hes selling tickets in Australia for years to come. So this is a win win for Goodman. If he beats Monster hes in another stratosphere & if he loses he'll still likely get the best payday of his career.

Its more likely hes just old school hard-headed about boxing business or maybe hes had some injury & wants to test out his recovery vs a lesser guy than a p4p guy. Whatever it actually is I doubt it has anything to do with the threat of losing to Monster. He doesn't seem like a cat who carries that type of mindset.

I think that "scared of" mindset is mostly in fans minds cuz they don't understand most high level athletes got the exact opposite mindset of regular ass ppl. Regular ass ppl overthink losing & ways one could lose. High level athletes only think about winning & how to win.

And your purpose for stating this is?
If you're trying to insinuate criticism of Inoue or his fans, he has already cleaned out the rest of the division. Who else is he supposed to fight?
People like Tank Davis should take notice. Inoue has unified all belts in two weight classes while Tank forces guys from lighter weight classes to come up and picks and chooses the easiest opponents in the top 10, sometimes not even in the top 10.

What he said is right at a certain level but not entirely. Sure you need to have a winning mindset but is it not also true then that certain fighters will pick and choose opponents that they think they have a solid chance of beating to ensure they continue to win? This is the Money Mayweather model is it not? Low risk, high reward. Of course nowadays things are thankfully starting to change, to a large extent based on the money Saudi is bringing to the table.
