Is it fair to label Andrade a fraud?

For years him and his fans ****** on about how avoided he was despite him declining fights against Korobov, Charlo, Alimkhanuly, even Zach Parker most recently.

Instead he fought the likes of Katundowka, Keeler, Quigley, Akavov etc. There was the odd fringe top 10 guy like Vanes, Williams or Sulecki but even those guys were clearly levels below who he should have been fighting.

Yet we were told how skilled Andrade was, how he was so elusive, sharp, accurate, slippery, yet the moment he stepped up, we saw absolutely none of those attributes.

I thought he won one round, the second. Benavidez looked the sharper fighter, he found him easy to hit and he essentially just beat the sh** out of him for 6 rounds until Andrade quit on his stool.

This guy was never an elite fighter.

Never seen him fight but my impression of him is confirmed.

No Olympian is a fraud, just that like in boxing you have levels.

      anateur and pro has levels.

pro has levels. Booboos. Level is what he was dominating, he steps up he gets beat.

been saying it for years, I knew Benevidez would stop him, but i thought boo boo would at least survive the first half.

I think not. Canelo ducked him in two weight classes. Just Andrade is obviously past his prime and unable to keep a strong pressure fighter away.

Nah. He looked good at first. He wasn't active enough and didn't stay sharp fighting good competition.

Plus, David had all the momentum on his side, Andrade needed a fight with someone like Caleb before stepping up to David imo

he is no fraud he is fighting out of hes natural weight division and it showed he really is a junior middle or middle weight he may not be as good as hes fans claimed him to be
and he just come up against against a huge super middleweight in benavidez who was way too good for him but andrade is still a very decent fighter and if he continues fighting can still be in some entertaining fights

I think he had ability but spent way too long fighting opponents that were way too basic and not really a good level.

you could argue last night was his first true would level opponent and he's nearly 36.

Good skills or not, you can't go around fighting much lesser opponents for a decade and then jump up many levels at 36.

had he been active 8 years ago and fought decent opponent, his ability would have give plenty of good fighters a test.

my guess at this point is he is well over the hill with a style that is more suited a younger man.... and had finally stepped up years too late in a weight class too big too.

he should have fought Alimkhanuly at 160 IMO, he was his mandatory. But Andrade has chosen to vacate and move up.

I think at this point, with this kind of "fans", undefeated fighters should just keep fighting bums instead of risking their brain cells to prove anything.
