Yes. It has nothing to do with the De La Hoya fight. In between the 12 months (April 06 and May 07) where he only fought Baldomir. I'd have fought Margarito in August for $8 mil, Baldomir in December for another $8-9 mil, and had 5+ months left over to rest and prepare for the De La Hoya fight.

That's just me. Money May does what gets him more money though so I don't know.

But before he "retired" he reaaallllllly had no excuse to avoid Cotto and Margarito. In that order.

I think the best version of Freitas could have given Floyd some trouble if he was able to establish himself as the aggressor early and keep Floyd on the defense for most of the fight.....I'm trying not to use triangle theory logic and think about Chico here though, but its hard not to.

While you can fight everybody in boxing i have to agree with some names on this list, Margarito..Casamayor.. But its easy to counter all these claims by saying he fought castillo and corrales who beat Stevie johnston..

I really dont know why Tsyzu was on the list because there wasnt any chance of that fight happening due to Tsyzu's injuries and mandatory stacking up by the time he was healed up enough to fight.

Mosley fight could/should have happen but i blame both for the fight not happening, Pacquiao shouldnt even be on the list, Spadafora i dont really know much about that situation..But i think the Cotto one is just timing.

So the Margarito and casamayor one stands out..

I don't see why you would turn down a big payday against DLH...he could have retired after that fight...he retired before the outcome of Margarito-Cotto...

You have the right to ur opinion tho, I don't think he ducked Margarito and I don't think Margarito stood much of a chance to begin with...Cotto and Shane are another story tho...

Don't be a dumb ass. Of course Margarito deserved the fight, he was the longest reigning welterweight titlist up until the Williams loss.

Floyd did not want the Margarito fight because he left 8 mil on the table. Why didn't Floyd revisit that offer/fight afterward or try to fit him in before or after Judah/Baldomir? 8 mil is nothing to scoff at and not revisit.

He retired a month before the anticipated Cotto-Margarito fight to avoid the cruzification underway for fighting a rematch with De La Hoya and having the nuts to mention a Hatton rematch.

He never called out cotto you bum!!!!! let alone freitas in his prime!!! Freitas was too strong and almost just as fast. He has always avoided great fighters (not castillo or Corrales) Every one else are at best b minus opposition. Gatti, de la Hoya (old), The caveman from Argentina (Baldomir), and Zab judah in which the caveman beat and Cotto destroyed. Him and Cotto will never figth for 2 reasons. 1st Bob Arum 2nd Cotto has taken punches from stronger and bigger opponents ( Includes Margaritos Cement Filled Gloves ) and also beat guys that are fast like Judah and Shane Mosley that have more punching power than floyd!!!!!

really? he called out casa and frietas both. top rank keep cotto away from Floydtwice especially after the saw the beating of gatti. floyd called out plenty of times in interviews

first, take margarito off of that list. he's a cheater, found guilty and paid for it.

take all of those bums, with various losses on their records. also take out all the steroid using cheaters as well.

that would leave us with one fighter, miguel cotto. after cotto beats pacquiao, it'll be clear, cotto-mayweather would be the fight to make happen. once that's done, mayweather has secured his goat status.
