Is Money May vs Cotto really a good idea

I mean wouldnt cotto just play right into mays gameplan? Im not trying to compair cotto to baldo but baldo played right into mays gameplan and cotto fights straight ahead aswell. i know cotto is way faster and better than baldo but is it really going to be a good fight if it happens? cotto will just walk into counters check hooks and jabs all night while floyd just slides and dances away.

I've never seen Miguel Cotto walk into counter punches, he's actually himself a great counter puncher.

I think people overlook heavily the subtle things Miguel Cotto does in the ring. He doesn't chase his opponents but figures them out more than anything and takes advantage of openings. I think Cotto has a much better shot than people give him simply because Floyd is an undefeated fighter. There's no reason why these 2 shouldn't fight in the very near future.

this is very true i just think floyd may be to fast for cotto. He does cut the ring off very well but i just think floyd will be to fast after awhile.

Well the thing with Cotto is Floyd isn't going to be running around the ring because Cotto's going to be timing him more than really chasing him. Cotto's jab as well may be a factor in getting Cotto's rhythm going. Floyd is indeed fast, but what beats speed is timing, which Cotto is also very good at doing against his opponents.

The one thing I agree Floyd has the advantage in is his defense. Cotto is not a very elusive fighter, but has improved his defense a bit. I just don't believe Floyd will try to go punch for punch with Cotto and being on the defensive all night might not win Floyd the fight.

As I said, very intriguing fight.

Anyone who doesnt wanna see this matchup is either not a real fan of the sport, or a Floyd groupie who feels he might actually lose.

If Floyd were to beat JMM and Pac, and Cotto were to bounce back and beat Clottey, Floyd/Cotto would be the biggest fight that can be made in boxing.

Check Hooks....man you didn't even know what that was till the Hatton fight. You watched that fight too many times.

If Floyd comes back and Cotto gets by Clottey.............HELL YEAH; make it happen.

What I've seen from many people here, they do not understand that it was your basic counter left hook which is not an oddity in Boxing. If you watch how Hatton came at Floyd, I believe many other fighters could have done the same to Hatton in the same motion.
