Looks like the fight with Billy Joe is happening.....good for the sport because it will get the casual fans involved, but I am wondering whether Chris is really ready for a guy like Saunders who is a decent European champion?

Maybe Eubank has been held back and can spring a surprise like Pops often did...they clearly want it as well....but at best, looks like a calculated risk.

Unless he catches Saunders.....no.. I don't think he is. He's fought a crap ton of journeymen.... that's it, hasn't even stepped up to the top fighters in the UK or the Euro level

I think he is going to outclass Saunders. Eubank jr looks like he has the ability to rival his father. Whether he has the chin, toughness and all round durability that his father had is unclear but I defintiely think he has the skills and physical capacities to be a very high quality fighter.

This year should had been the year Eubank started stepping up the qulality of his opponents. It hasn't happened though so now the fight with Saunders is a big step up for him.

He has lots of talent though. I think he'll go far.

Sorry to mention another forum....but over at Boxrec there's a thread running saying that the fight is just some kind of hyped-up marketing BS and that either BJS of CE will put out and that it ain't going to happen!

Find that a bit of a weird one because the fight has been made despite both guys not really needing each other that badly at the moment....for example, Saunders is ****ing on the door of a world title and does not really need Chris on his ledger to get there.

I think both guys want the fight and that it happens.

This is the turning point in both of their young careers a la
St. George Groves vs. James DeGale match May 21, 2011.
Chris Eubank Jr. has a lot of potential he's the son of a UK
legend Chris Eubank Sr. We've seen over the years a lot of
the 2nd generation boxers fail to live up to expectations in
the past with Aaron Pryor Jr., Ronald Hearns, Roberto Duran
Jr. etc even Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. isn't quite as "great" how
his father was. We'll have to see I think boxing fans here are
over looking Chris Eubank Jr. I'm going out on a bold prediction
I think that Chris Eubank Jr. will defeat Billy Joe Sanders based
on points and maybe perhaps a knockout just my own opinion.
