Parallels: The Haye Bellew fight and the Bauer Braddock (Cindarella Man) fight.

    The obvious:

We had two supposed killers in Haye and Baur, we had two supposed lumps on a winning streak, who were being deluded into fighting a dangerous opponent who would cause them physical harm.

I don't want to just pick all the low hanging fruit, lets get the obvious out of the way and then we can look at the difference between perception and reality.

I think one difference is we will now have to listen to Eddie Hearn as he goes about trying to make nothing fights involving Bellew. He beat a scrub in Haye. The Brits have failed to recognize this for years and keep crying Haye back into action and being his national enabler. I recognized him as a scrub when he was scared to death of Klit and even Valuev.

Get over it, Brits, Haye was a scrub on steroids. We hardly need to see his conquerer get his scrub butt kicked. It proves nothing except Hearn's bank account is getting healthier. Baeiouywr never got a rematch. That is the part we need to keep from this debacle.

Anytime the Brits can fill a stadium with halfwits they promote the idea of how great it is for the sport. ******ed fans are good for the sport, I will grant them that, for they can be made to believe in anything, even David Haye.

No major parallels apart from it being an upset (of sorts). Bellew beat an inactive fighter who was fighting with a major handicap for 6 rounds. In Bear, Braddock beat a destroyer in the prime of his career for the heavyweight championship of the world.

That's not to mention Braddocks back story too. This whole Bellew win has been massively and shamefully blown out of proportion by himself, Eddie Hearn and the guys on Hearns 'payroll'.

Are you across the pond Lefty? I tell you I like the way the Brits get behind their guys...It can often enough be ******ed...I still remember the Brits singing the Ricky Hatton winter wonderland as he is carted out of the ring after Floyd's checkhook.

I certainly think Bauer was better than Haye. And the inactivity is a big thing as well. But both guys were imo overestimated. Bauer was talented to a fault but very inconsistent. One could say the same thing about Haye.

The injury is a big difference, but all bellew had to do to make a statement was avoid getting knocked out while Haye could still load up.

What about the idea of improvement as it relates to both guys? One thing about Braddock was he developed his left hand as a dock worker because of his bad right. bellew seemed to be at his scrappy best his last few fights, at an advanced age, did something improve his abilities? some people learn late...

Haye and Bauer fancied themselves movie stars, as a matter of fact the whole Bauer family (Buddy bear was in Green Acres) was in film lol. Maxie was, like Haye quite the ladies man! Both men had the physique. max was a bit more witty than Haye. Both men preferred to not train and have fun. And both men were known for their crushing right.

Bellow will get KO'd against any of the young heavies especially Joshua and Wilder.
Braddock was a very good boxer as a young light heavy who was moved to quickly. The story line in Cinderella Man was very accurate and the actor did a great job reenacting Braddock's style. They had Dundee on the payroll who worked with Braddock late in his career. Braddock was a smart fighter and could work traps as well as anyone.
Haye is an actor and completely quit in the Wlad fight, he was a total bum that night.

And Max Jr. was in Beverly Hillbillies.

Yeah, pretty accurate, except for the writer making Baer look like the villain in the movie. That was so inaccurate that his son felt the need to set the record straight in the press when the movie came out in theaters.
