Which boxer was best at taking a punch and taking the sting off the punch?

So someone that gets hit but not hurt without having a strong chin?

Duran was the best ever at taking the sting off punches, but he also had a granite chin and ATG defence.

In terms of taking the sting off a punch, no one was as good as a Prime Ali.

In terms of a fighter being the best at taking a punch, Froch, Chavez Sr and Hopkins spring to mind.

Some boxers can take the punch, son, but the sting makes them neurotic. If they could wear a beekeeper's suit into the ring they would be unbeatable. The commissions have turned the proposal down repeatedly. They will let them wear it in, but will not let them fight unless they unmask and de-suit. Maybe a little cherrywood smoke to waft the opponent into a light drowse would be nice. But no--the commissions will not even allow that. A fellow so apiphobic that his first instinct is to swat Mike Tyson instead of punch back should have some recourse.

It's a disease. They used to think alcoholism was just slobs getting drunk, too. Thank you for bringing it up. As fans, we have a social responsibility, and I am glad to see you take the lead where others fear to tread.
