    Carlos Ortiz vs Floyd Mayweather

    At lightweight.

Carlos's mobility, accurate combo punching and intelligent agression would give young Floyd fits. Carlos had an amazing Jab as well. I think he would dominate Floyd at lightweight. Above lightweight is a different story though.

    Thoughts.

    No ***** bias, please.

All I know is I have to check out more of Carlos fights. I know the posters that started viewing the sport a decade before I did have immense respect for him. Correct me if I am wrong but did not Carlos become Jr welterweight champ then move down to lightweight?

Yeah he won the first fight in his trilogy with the Italian legend Duilio Loi, the two he lost were at the San Siro stadium in Milan in front of 60,000 fans.

        Yup.

Carlos was one of the most complete fighters to ever lace them up. A highly intelligant pressure fighter who moved beautifuly. He was that good that in his prime I think he could have ran Duran very very close. He lost to Buchanan when he was a shell of his former self. I believe at his best he would have beaten Ken on points.

          Two of my favourite fighters.

I've favour Floyd by close decision.

early in his reign there were hints that Durans team actually avoided carlos prior to Carlos fighting kenny . carlos claims he was training for a title fight with duran and when that fell thru his heart just was not in to preparing correctly for ken.

Haven't seen enough of Ortiz to have an educated opinion but it would take a great fighter at his very best to beat an in shape light weight version of Duran.

Duran did mature in both strength and skill during his lightweight reign

ken made a name for himself by beating laguna as well he also could have withered under durans pressure and power tough sob smart fighter. i think carlos in his prime would have too much for ken tho. i also think he would have beat floyd at least 2 out 3
