What was the best middleweight era, and what is your favorite era

Just wondering what you guys think is the best era for middleweights.. And also what is your favorite middleweight era...

Off the top of my head the best was probably the robinson-Lamotta-fullmer era, I'm not 100% certain, that's why I'm wondering what you guys think..

Personal favorite was late 80s to early 90s.. Tate, nunn, toney, benn, g-man

Middleweight division is usually attached to a single fighter like haglers monzon, hopkins, unlike heavyweight where's it's always attached to a group of fighters ie ali-frazier-foreman or bowe-holyfield-tyson-lennox.. What is the glory era of the middleweight division

The late 80s to early 90s was definitely the best, no other era even comes close. It probably could have been even better still if the 168 division hadn't been established

I think LaMotta and Fullmer are really in two different eras with Robinson straddling both periods. Their respective 'world level' years at middleweight were probably 1942-1951 for LaMotta and 1954-1963 for Fullmer.

I think more must be given to the 1970's and the deign of Monzon. You had Griffin, Briscoe, Valdez, Benvenuti....

Then there's The early 40's with Tony Zale, Freddie Steele, Marcel Cerdan...though he was the end of that era which began Lamotta's.

And how about Murderer's Row in the late forties....guys who never got a shot because they were breaking havock?

It comes down to personal taste as with almost everything else. I like the 60s, it had a plethora of good fighters often fighting each other, and we have plenty of video footage to go with it.

            70's is my favourite.

My first real era being old enough to know what's going on so that's probably why. Your first era is always your favourite.

Very true. Yet some people won't admit it and often overrate the talent from that era.

Even though I generally agree with the point, the late 80s and early 90s was not my first era.
