A great ring general is good at controlling the tempo and improvisational ability. My own vote goes to Monzon, who hardly ever gave up any control in a fight.

Your trainers are pretty good--at eubonics, not English. There has been a term in existence for decades, and it works perfectly without the addition of three letters which serve no purpose. Some diseased, punch drunk boxing trainer said it, and you think that legitimizes it. They got the words general and gentleman entangled and created a malapropism, nothing more. It is not as if boxing trainers are known for their sparkling English.

You came onto me with the bit that I found a new word I wanted to show off, a word I may have known before you were alive.

I do not like to squabble with words, but I excell at it and you do not, and I detest snide insinuations. I will try to educate and nice-ify you for a while. If that does not work, I will block you, or anyone else, if this forum has that function. I only have time for serious, vertical discussion. Horizontal stuff is boring, and eight grade locker room banter is even below that. Chess is similar to boxing. You need to develop a strategy, and you need to think two or three steps ahead about what your opponent is doing. You have to be smart. But what's the difference between chess and boxing? In chess, nobody is an expert, but everybody plays. With boxing everybody is an expert, but nobody has any fights.

As a boxer and a chess player, what do you think of the sacrifice play in both activities? Does boxing have an equivalent to the queen sacrifice? What is an example of a pawn sacrifice in boxing?
