Garcia vs Matthysse/ Gomez vs Sanchez

I know this is not really "History" but I almost never post in NSB for obvious reasons. I see similarities in this fight in the sense that so many people think this is a walk in the park for Lucas Matthysse. I've read similar things about Wilfredo Gomez vs Salvador Sanchez, with Gomez being the favorite mainly because of his KO power.

I see Lucas as the favorite but if Garcia pulls this off, I would not be surprised. I have a funny feeling that he is going to shock people in this fight and catch Matthysse with something hard and hurt him. I can be totally wrong but I have that hunch. If I can get good odds on Garcia, I will take it. I think he will box more in this fight and use sharp counters

Any thoughts on this fight? I think it's one of the best match-ups I've seen in a long time. I'm looking forward to this more than I am for Mayweather-Canelo.


Lucas Matthysse is for real and I understand the hype surrounding him because he is a very dangerous puncher with skills. But I'm sensing an aura of invincibility that could get cracked.

Danny is just too limited, and lucas may be a one trick pony with just punching power,,,

No doubt. I agree and understand that. But if Matthysse wins in the same way as he did with Peterson, he really might be something special and I'll make note of that if it happens. I expect him to win but I have a hunch in this fight which makes believe there is a good chance he could lose. I was never really impressed with Garcia until his last two fights. He showed me some things that I think he can use effectively.

I use to think lucas would blow him out,, but more i think about it,, danny has a legit chance, i still favor lucas but not as much as i did

Danny did give Zab a beating that I didnt think he could give him because I thought Zab was the faster more skilled fighter. Dannys timing is legit though. He knows how to counter speed. Him vs Peterson would probably been just as close and just as much a war as khan vs peterson.

I hate Danny and especially his father. POS scumbag. I am really pulling for Lucas but I think Lucas is the worst match up possible for Danny. Zab was able to hurt Danny and if Lucas caught him with the same punch he would have went down. Unlike Rios, Margarito, and Maidana who overwhelm you with relentless volume and decent power, Lucas can actually cut the ring off, counter, and set up punches. Hes not just going to come at Garcia throwing caution out the window.

If he does then I think he fell for his hype because the Lucas the fought Peterson murks Danny. Danny still is unproven against a young fresh prime tough contender like Lucas. Zab, Campbell, Morales are old and Khan is Khan lol.

I legit think Danny is intimidated too because he took so long to take this fight like him and Golden Boy were looking for a way around it. I dont think Lucad decapitates him in under 3 rounds like most of the lucas fanboys, Danny is tough and will make Lucas work for a couple rounds but in the middle rounds Danny will get caught slipping IMO and get put to sleep.

I actually think if Lucas was smart hed start out slow like against Judah just to give Garcia a false sense of confidence so he can catch him slipping. Hoping it dont backfire though!

But we may see a good left hook that puts Mathysse to sleep, who knows...

How well Garcia takes a punch will make a big difference. Unfortunitely we won't know this til after the fight. Sanchez had a underrated chin.

I like both fighters, I'm a fan of Lucas but I also like Danny.

I find his Dad hilarious. His ignorance is overwhelming and his delivery is absolutely magic, pure gold.

I think it will be a good fight but I only seeing it ending one way, and that's Lucas with his hand raised.

Both will land some crazy leather though.
