Pintor did win a close decision and some feel it could have gone either way. Take your ****** goggles off and watch the fight. Plus Pintor goes on to be a shlt fighter regardless.

Pac-Boy heres something for you to try and understand!
When your a manager or matchmaker the most difficult job is to find fights for a fighter under 126 (feather) when your a fly to super fly to bantam you will run out of quality opponents very quickly, especially if you win!!
In Zarate' case he only hand 33 amatuer bouts so his beginning was against other beginners who he was advanced in comparison.
Then after he fought a string of top contenders he went back to fighting home town favorites and low second tier competition. Its what full time fighters do!
Carlos Zarate' is a top ten ATG at 119lbs! He could fight in any era and be competitive with all the other greats!! p4p one of the best power punchers EVER! A good technician and overall very good boxer for a power puncher!
As with many of the "lil guys" back then they do burn out earlier than fighters over 126 and with his 6 1/2 year lay off that unheard of in the lower weights!! A true crowd pleasure and a max effort guy who I enjoyed watching!

Well said. i can see that logic and understand it. The point i was making was the level of opposition that was presented to me was top tier. Other than Alfredo which was not made abundantly clear. For me im not as big on the little guys and wasnt a big fan of Zarate. I often compared him to Rafael Marquez in a way.

I'm still amazed how fans count wins to losses instead of who the wins and losses were against! Boxing can be a numbers game but that starts when you hit your first 70 bouts! If theres great fighters active at the same its rare that one will dominate the other because the percentages are against it if they fight each other enough!
Sugar Ray lost to LoMatta once in five and Ray was the superior fighter but Jake was great too!

Sorry that you didn't realize that the Gomez was obviously Wilfredo. And you can ask Gomez about his fight with him if you think that Lupe Pintor was a **** fighter.

This is becoming embarrassing. The difference between you and me is that you learned about these fighters on Boxrec, while I learned by watching them fight live. Anyone reading this thread would know that I have used facts while you were just passing opinions. Its right there for everyone to see. Gomez and Zamora were ko machines and Pintor not only fought his heart out against Gomez but defended the bantam title numerous times. Zarate having these names on his resume only qualifies for greatness not ridicule.
