Indeed frazier's style gave Ali problems, but pound for pound Ali is the better boxer, has the better resume and is 2-1 with frazier.

I respect frazier, loved his style, but lets be real he couldn't box that well. His footwork wasn't good and he was sluggish.

Terrible assessment and not a shred of truth to any of that whatsoever.

Sluggish would be the last word I'd use to describe a prime Joe Frazier. Well maybe passive would be the last word I'd use...

So you say he was basically a David Tua yet he beat guys Muhammad Ali, Jerry Quarry and Oscar Bonavena.

Sounds like there was a little more to him than being a one fisted stocky slugger.

You can say he was the undisputed champion and only all time great heavyweights ever beat him. I don't usually stick up for Frazier very much, but this is borderline insulting.

Apparently some people are under the impression that if you don't dance like Ali or run like F@gweather you can't box and have lousy footwork :rolleyes9:

Couldn't say it better myself. Now was his footwork as good as prime Tyson? No. But how many other swarming heavyweights were better? And, in my mind, any man that can make Ali miss one jab after another is a damn f**king good boxer.

What other fighter in history could have handled Ali the way Frazier man handled him?
FOTC was also the greatest performance of Muhammad Ali's career...
