    More impressive vs Fernando Vargas...

Tito Trinidad or Oscar De La Hoya?

Who had the more impressive performance? Vargas seemed very uncomfortable in his fight with Tito. He was very outmatched as he was still pretty "green" to be fighting a guy like Tito, IMO.

However, despite taking a beating, Vargas was able to put Tito down, and was able to last til the 12th round.

Oscar was a closer fight on the cards, but Oscar wasn't put down and managed to knock Vargas out in one less round, all the while Vargas was on steroids.

Who had the more impressive performance? Oscar, or Tito?

hmm, for the most part it looked to me like anytime Vargas tried to do any damage, Tito had an answer and found an opening to land hard shots to the chin.

Vargas was forced to be very cautious and looked to be very out of his comfort zone.

What did Vargas do that makes you claim he was not outmatched and kept the fight close?

He kept him(Trinidad) at range and off balance using simple movement and a jab through much of the fight, not allowing Trinidad to get set to throw his power punches.Vargas got caught enough times, but it was through this which allowed him to remain competitive throughout the course of the fight.

      .
I see Vargas having very limited success in the fight. Here is a summary video, I think it sums up the fight pretty well. Vargas was not in command and unlike you, I had him pretty far behind on the cards.

It is worth noting that Trinidad was at the absolute top of his game against Vargas, while De La Hoya had seen better days by the time he was a Jr. Middleweight in 2002.

Superficially, Trinidad did better, winning more convincingly on the cards at the time of his stoppage, scoring five knockdowns to De La Hoya's one, & generally dishing out the bigger beating. However, De La Hoya was never dropped, was somewhat past his own best days, & unlike Trinidad, De La Hoya completely exhiled & vanquished Vargas from being a potential pound-for-pounder for good.

        It's close.

delahoto refused to fight VARGAS. Once TITO KO'D VARGAS, delaputo jumped on a fight with VARGAS! Same as with MAYORGA, TITO KO'S RICARDO, hoto wants to fight him!!!! TITO KO'D VARGAS who was undefeated!!! And never lost to a smaller fighter! delapendejo lost to SSM X2, PBF, and PACQUIAO, by *ss whipping!!!!! So your question is? The answer is? TITO TRINIDAD!! Stop the comparison, it ain't even close!!!!!!

You're not doing your image any favours. How is someone supposed to take that kind of entry seriously?

Unfortunately De La Hoya inspires a visceral hate reaction in a lot people :dunno9:

Trinidad. Not only was he the first to beat Vargas but it's my opinion that Vargas was never really the same fighter after that fight. Oscar Delahoya knew that too.
