What is the biggest upset of all time?

What is the biggest upset of all time?

I would probably go with Tyson-Douglas, I think Douglas was a 42-1 dog in that fight or something.

    Joe Louis - Max Schmeling
    Randy Turpin - Ray Robinson
    Frankie Randalls - JCC
    Sonny Liston - Muhammad Ali
    Jim Jeffries - Jack Johnson
    Joe Frazier - George Foreman
    Donald Curry - Lloyd Honeyghan
    Michael Moorer - George Foreman

All major upsets, couldn't say for definite which is number one but I'll go with Louis - Schmeling.

There's four that spring to mind - Duran over Leonard, Douglas over Tyson, Ali over Foreman and Braddock over Baer.

but Jeffries was hyped up as the white hope who would get rid of the black champion

he was coming off a long retirement
I don't really consider it an upset

aside from the racist white people of the time who maybe acted as if it was an upset, do you know reputated writers or historians who feel it was an upset ?

Was hesitant on putting it up, but yes "racist" white people meaning 90% of white people from that era thought that Jeffries was the man to bring down Johnson more so then any of the other Great White Hopes.

That was the fight when people would be made to recognize Johnson as the real champ where they wouldn't previously. I'd say it was an upset but not in the general sense of the underdog coming out on top.
