What he said. And shame on the 3 children who voted for Margarito.

Unfortunately for him, Margarito is an accumulation puncher and won't be able to take advantage of Hearns' chin deficiency (which has been exaggerated.) That and the fact that he gets hit waaaaaay too much spell doom against a guy who is better in every single way (save for chin.) Somewhere around round 5 or 6, the ref rescues Margarito from what would probably be a career ending beating.

First off resto and margarito have NOTHING in common to begin with...but I won't get into details with that now, second there is nothing wrong to believe Tony can actually beat hearns if you disagree then so be it but if is very very possible tony can beat hearns wether you like it or not.

Hearns is an ATG. Margarito is not and will NEVER be an ATG. Not even touching on the fact that Margarito has to use plaster to win, Antonio is inferior to Cuevas whom Hearns destroyed brutally.

Both were caught tampering with either gloves or wraps to gain an illegal advantage. That is a pretty big commonality with something that is not so common.

second there is nothing wrong to believe Tony can actually beat hearns if you disagree then so be it but if is very very possible tony can beat hearns wether you like it or not.
Thats fine dj, but state your case. What could Margs possibly do in your opinion to give him a win over Hearns at 147?

No, actually it is not very, very possible. In fact it not only not very possible but one hundred % certain that he loses. Have a look at their opponents, their styles, their overall skills and what happens when faced with similar opponents.

Hearns destroyed every single fighter like Margarito he ever faced. Absolutely blitzed them. He has too much skill, speed, power, foot work etc to be caught. Margarito would struggle to past the jab and he is not actually even as good inside as Hearns was. I think that is one of the big things people overlook. Inside, Hearns destroyed guys. Against someone with the inside skill of Margarito (and that being the only way he can win) he does not stand a chance because he gets the **** hammered out of his body with brutal left hooks and uppercuts inside that are much more powerful, quick and better placed.

Simple pressure doesn't work against Hearns. You either have to be able to bomb him out with lucky punch with massive power (which Marg lacks) or match skill with him along with having an advantage in
power, stamina and chin as did Leonard.

At 147, Marg cannot do that.

Margarito honestly does not stand a chance in this fight. If you think Hearns loses because of his chin, you don't know anything about Hearns' chin and it's ridiculously overstated 'weakness' and if you think Margarito's pressure would get to him you know nothing about Hearns overstated lack of stamina.

Anyone who doesn't guard their chin or body well, gets horribly beaten against Hearns and if you don't have monstrous single shot knockout power ala Barkley, you ain't landing that lucky KO punch.

As for the chin of Margarito....He was knocked out by Mosley who was a very good puncher, but certainly no P4P ATG puncher. Margarito's chin is not as good as Duran's and Hearns put his lights out brutally. He's been hurt, staggered and knocked down at 147 more than Duran was from 118 to 160.

His pressure is not smart enough to get to Hearns and beat him. His hand speed is not nearly enough to actually catch Hearns enough to the body to slow him down (the amount of times Margarito catches Hearns....well, quadruple that to Marg's body and head with twice the power) and his size advantage is completely negated against someone who is bigger than him. He would be punching up unusually.

You know what, go watch Williams/Margarito, Marg/Santos. Now imagine someone with ten times the power of Williams, hand speed that simply embarrasses both guys, and the skill to not get caught by enough for damage to occur. Hearns wins nearly every round if he doesn't knock him out and I could see that happening if we're talking the very best version of Margarito but he really does not have a defense for the right hand as seen against Mosley and Hearns' right hand is possibly the greatest of all time. If someone cannot defend the right hand of Hearns they are going down, whether it's someone from 147 or 175 or 200.

Tony is like a legend to me but he just wouldnt be able to stave off Hearns power Margaritos iron will chin and stamina keep him in it til the ninth with the referee stepping in and stopping the punishment
