    Tito part II

I also wonder if Joppy faced a fighter with illegally-wrapped hands, before Trinidad.

He had an unfair advantage over his opponents by increasing the power in his punches by a significant amount and you think it's alright? Wow..
In all but 3 fights he had no advantage to other fighter couldn't of had himself. There is nothing unfair about that.

I do hold every fight of his in contempt, the same way I hold all of Margarito's. Yes, there's a separate degree of unfairness between them, but their careers both have question marks over them.
Whats Margs did, and may have done before was illegal EVERYWHERE. What Tito did was illegal in NY. You ignoring that difference shows extreme prejudice.

By the way, you still didn't answer my last question:

If you were that fighter that lost by knockout, you know that you would say he cheated.

I guess that would depend on where I was. If I wasn't in NY I would have nothing to complain about since it is perfectly legal and I'd be within my rights to wrap my hands the same way.

If I were you, I would stop responding. You've dug yourself a hole and showed everyone how biased you are.
To the other posters of this forum, you will have to pardon me for starting a new thread. This clown wrote this and than put me on ignore so I COULDN'T respond. No way I was going out like that.

Tito Trinidad is at worst the third greatest Puerto Rican fighter of all time and a sure fire first ballot HOF'er. William Joppy could have been armed with a machete and Tito would still have destroyed him. B-Hop destroyed him, and he was never the same again, but Tito's legacy is set in stone.

Was it really necessary to create a new thread? Why didn't you just reply to the one I started? You're not on my ignore list..

Except it's highly unlikely the other fighters didn't do it. The way Trinidad's hands were wrapped is not what's taught to fighters. You would know that if you went to a gym.

Where exactly did I ignore the difference? You may have missed this part:

As you can see, I clearly acknowledged that there's a difference.

If you didn't know about it and you didn't do it and he did do it, you would claim he's a cheater.

There really was no reason for you to be creating a second thread on the same subject. Let alone, the real meaning of this thread was to reply to a post of mine in another thread. I think you're a spammer and I'm going to be putting you on ignore now. When exactly you will be removed is unknown.

Yes it was necessary since when I clicked reply on your thread it said I couldn't respond because TS had me on ignore. Don't play games and stop lying.

I fought for 8 years and still go to the gym kid. And you're ASSuming it is unlikely other fighters didn't wrap their hands that way, you have no proof. Therefore you cannot say Tito had any advantage. And, even if he did it still WASN'T illegal.

Are you trying to say that professional trainers teach their fighters to wrap in an unfair and illegal way? Wow..

I don't believe you fought for 8 years. Until I have some sort of proof, you didn't fight for 8 years.

No problem. I'll be creating some very good threads, in the next few days, and you won't be apart of them.

There is a lot to the Tito wraps story and it isn't very clear what exactly happened. Tito's wraps were illegal because Felix Sr. applied tape to his knuckles and layered tape and gauze while he wrapped his knuckles; both are illegal in NYSAC rules.

Now alone the advantages of simply adding more tape aren't substantial enough to make a fighters hand turn into a brick but when you dip the tape in ice water the tape will seize and harden. If you have layers of tape and tape on your knuckles when you dip your hand into the ice water the tape will seize up and harden making your wraps harder.

Now there is no question as to whether Tito's wraps had tape on the knuckles and layers of tape, Tito Sr. admits that’s how he wrapped his son’s hands because he believes it provides more protection. The mystery is whether he dipped his hands into ice water to stiffen the tape.

Now again we don’t know much other than Tito’s hands were wrapped with layers of tape which is illegal under NYSAC rules, so it’s very tough to draw a conclusion.

Unless it is proven I won't call any fighter a cheat whether its Holyfield and steroids, Duran with an intentional thumb, Margarito with illegal wraps against Cotto, or Tito dipping his hands. Is it a possibility? Sure it is. Is there a shred of proof (Im talking over his entire career, not his 3 NY fights before Hop)? No.
