Ali however must have been slightly apprehensive before the fight. Norton and Frazier gave him some of his hardest fights and Foreman beat both of them in under two rounds knocking them down several times.

Also Tyson,Dempsey and liston would be well up there.

Im my humble opinion from what I seen in my lifetime Tyson was pretty scary back in the late 1980's. I was a kid then of course but i remember. I wasn't born yet to see foreman as a young terror but my dad tells me he was more frightening then tyson.

The burden of fighting Johnson was too great for too many to handle. Who wanted The Great White Hope tag applied to them? Bad enough fighting a tough fighter like Johnson, but add onto that the weight of an entire race!? No surprise not many sought to challenge Johnson.
        exactly who iwould pick too!!
johnson was'nt just feared by all the fighters of the time but feared by the public as a whole.
they actually feared him so bad that the police made up the charge of a black man crossing a state line with a white woman(his wife at the time)forcing jack to go on the run in europe!!
then comes tyson who was blowing everybody away and looking menacing doing it!!(untill buster burst the bubble)
i dont agree with foreman though!!
ali never looked scared of him, in fact ali was such a crazy mother****er that he had the scary sonny liston fearing him!!
in third i'd pick liston coz lets be honest would you want to be in the opposite corner to him and his gangster pals!!

I have to put Vitali up with the likes of Foreman and Liston. Just because of his shear size and power.

If i were a heavyweight, i'd be most afraid to fight a prime Tyson. This guy didn't go into a fight to win, he went in there to kill. I'd think i'd rather fight a grizzly bear, although they both bite.
