Show me a link where Byrd wanted or offered a re-match with Vitali? He was a Don King fighter, and he WOULD never risk a fight with Klitschko. Instead we saw Byrd vs Kings signed men, Holyfield, Ruiz, and Rhaman.

Lewis ducked out of the re-match while trying to make fights with Roy Jones and Kirk Johnson! After Klitschko vs. Lewis, Vitali crushed Johnson in two rounds! Roy Jones passed on the fight and the WBC ordered a re-match. So neither the Johnson or Jones fight could be made. Lewis has one belt left and the rematch was ordered. Lewis did not honor the re-match he said he would give. The money was offered to Lewis. If you say the challenger seeks the re-match, you pianted yourself into a corner.

These are Vitali's only losses. A fight where an Injury is to blame for a defeat and a cut. He was winning both fights.

Although I agree on drafting OL which has been very good during Dak tenure to replace Tackles, I think the problem is Dak, who has a top 5 WR and a very good TE who is a rising star.
Yet we saw Wlad fight Byrd twice. It's not the winners job to seek a rematch.

As I have been telling you was zero chance for Don King to risk the IBF belt vs Kilschko. He has the IBF belt as his sighed men his which included Chris Byrd. You are a tad naive to think otherwise.

But using your thinking ( Vitali sure as heck tried to rematch Lewis. Lewis tried to make matches vs. Jones and Johnson, ( Jones did not want to get badly KO'd and passed, Vitali KO'd Johnson ) then quickly retired when WBC ordered the re-match! Vitali tired to get the re-match. He chased Lewis into retirement.

We both know you won't / can't and so ends this debate.

Vitali was so adamant on fighting Lewis knowing he wasn’t the same fighter anymore, even then a past his prime and out of shape Lennox still wrecked his face imagine a prime and ready Lewis would have made it look easy

          - - Vit took the short notice fight on 2 week notice. Lewis had two training camps, one in England and the other in Cali for a total of 10 weeks training.

Lewis had ascended to Ring Champ with demo of Tyson and had 5 more lucrative fights planned including the rematch with Tyson who was not interested.

Lewis was nearly 40 at the time and you can see was showing signs of being shot so him retiring after as you say full camps was a wise decision as he no longer could go this is something we should be encouraging with all fighters

It's not the winners job to pursue a rematch. That is the losers job. And Byrd never fought Ruiz or Rahman. Instead he fought guys like Ibeabuchi, Holyfield, Wlad 2x, Tua, Oquendo, Golota, McCline, Williamson and Povetkin. Do you know what all those fighters have in common? Vits didn't fight them either along with like 20 other top ten rated fighters.

If Lewis had come back they would have a point. But he stayed retired after going out on top. That should be respected.

Lewis only retried when forced to re-match Klitschko! He tried to make a fight in Canada vs .Kirk Johnson but Vitali KO'd Johnson and tried to make a fight with Roy Jones and Jones passed! When the WBC order a re-match months later ..Lewis had a choice. Fight Klitschko or be stripped of his last belt. It was only then that Lewis retired.

By the way you failed to produce the links I requested. Vitali chased Lewis into retirement. Lewis said years later he would come back for 50 million!

                      - - Lewie retired after being stripped of every title but the WBC who was just a day or two from stripping him of that.

Light in the Loafers Lewie perfect for U boxing heroes.
