    Lamotta HD upscaled footage

looking slick and showing his ability to slip, roll and ride punches, I was ridiculed by a few people who think Lamotta just ran forward and eats blows for fun, which nobody can do and retain their health - but alas here we are again have a look. TOTALLY not a face first brawler check out the skills

Thanks for putting this up.Murphy was a slugging brawler /Fritzie Zivic said you couldn't miss Jake, while this is an overstatement he was no defensive wizard.

Zivic was a very very good fighter, very savvy, crafty and dirty.

Defensive wizard? it's not so much that he was ever a defensive wizard, it's that he's very skillful. He draws punches in and makes opponent's miss so he can land cleanly.

His headmovement shows this, it's not just there for defense, he's using it as a target to make his opponent miss. It's called "baiting headmovement". It's what a mongoose does to a snake. The snake is trying to target the mongoose who baits it by jiggling it's head back and forth rapidly, then causing the cobra to strike preventively or off timing, makes him miss badly leaving it exposed. You don't have to jiggle like a mongoose, you just need to be in constant perpetual movement - so muscles storing energy to strike will always be off timing since there is a millisecond delay. The opponent is looking for a pause so he can confidently throw with less fear of missing. That's why it's ****** to hit a stationary bag, the same way it's ****** to learn skateboard tricks standing still.

It's essentially what James Toney did his entire career, the last guy to ever use this skill. he doesn't dodge punches, he draws them in and makes them miss. Most fighters didn't understand what he was doing to them. Roy Jones said James Toney was by far the best fighter he ever fought.

Toney was fundamentally a better fighter than Jones imo he did not have his physical gifts but his basic rudiments were sounder.I know what baiting head movement is I just don't see much of it from Jake.

It is what he is doing, he throws his jab and drops it on purpose to bait a right hand in causing the opponent to miss. does it on rythm. like all them cats

Toney was better than Jones, but his style and training didn't allow him to win. Toney is only good if you fight him really, he had no other version of himself but "gym brawling" Toney. His skills were second to non in this category no doubt, but if you didn't want to fight he wasn't a master at cutting off the ring of applying pressure for that matter.

Jones on the other hand ran 7 miles a day up and down hills
