I've watched Pacquiao - Hatton four times over the past week and I keep being struck by how much he looked like Duran fighting. Manny really has devoloped into a legit boxer-puncher instead of just a brawler.

He has, and by design. I think it's a good thing tho cuz movin up in weight he needs to utilize more skills as opposed to just raw power. -

Yes and no, Manny answers to fighting bigger men is mostly movement. Duran used a lot more upper body movement for defense, possibly because he started facing bigger men later on in his career and would not have even had the legs to do otherwise.Last edited by wmute; 05-10-2009, 10:42 AM.Comment

at lightwieght ive seen a good amount off him, they dont fight all that similar in my opinion. but there carrers have similaritys, they both went up in wieght to fight good opisition, and they both are hero's in there country.Originally posted by poet682006 View PostComment

Pacquiao is much better Boxer from long range than Duran, and Duran was much better at slipping punches. I guess it depends on which Duran you are talking about though.
Duran that fought Ortiz,Fernandez,De Jesus 1 was a little animal and he got a bit wild at times when he let his aggression consume him, so i can see where you going with it there because Pac is extremely wild when he lets it hang out, there was a point in that fight where Hatton's back hit the ropes and Pac went old school wild on him for a split second.
