you add the fighters opponents/eras and overall danger accountability...I go with a 6'3 240 pound ,efficient Rahamn over the reletivl;ey easy to hit Louis by all accounts....whos better? IDk but I wouldn't want to be slow shuffling and easy counter right handed against a Rahamn. i'll take Louis on over him in hopes of winning. This doesnr discredit Louis...how good could he have been? im just comparing the both fighters as is.Last edited by juggernaut666; 03-02-2016, 01:03 AM.

Rahman being ten is silly anyway I can list dozens before that spot. A better question is how is Bowe number two on your list?????????? Realism? come on man.....lmao
The scary thing is your list is just as distorted as some of the better known list ive seen ,but they are sheep really...cant look outside the box but then you have Foreman over Wlad? What?

I would think Rahman who was a Tyson sparring partner knocked Lewis out, even he was clowning and really wasn't half bad considering I find it hard you or anyone would put a guy like Gallento or conn over someone like that.

He is far better than anyone Rahman fought in that department.
You cannot compare different era champs to good modern contenders it almost never works, particularly in an age that 190 pounders was the norm. Billy Conn was a major threat than ,how hard would it be for Rahman to k.o that guy? Lets be real here every era where they were once champs would not be champs in others. It took years to finally someone sit back and look at video footage on Louis and say hey look all you have to do is counter with an over hand right after a lazy jab.....and they were correct. What Louis had on his side is boxing did not catch up until the video studying began to take off which was later...He has major holes in his whole package and that can be seen with the extensive footage of now, boxers THEN simply fought differently and more or less stood in front more with less movement. It wasn't as common then where you could study your opponent and really they relied on news papers to do that.Last edited by juggernaut666; 03-03-2016, 04:27 AM.

I'm not doing a list. Having the "appreciation" that I do for the Sport and especially for Hvywt div. history..but....few comments A) personally I think Holyfield would top Joe Louis in one-up. But..."rating" them comprehensively....better with criteria. And, "Socially" the world a much different zone in a Joe Louis ERA! B) probably Ali deserves No.1 a.t. and I WILL bet that most often on experts lists it's him! C) Not saying he is in or out of Top 8 a.t. but....Robbie Fitzsimmons "amazing" man and athlete [notice: Jeffries II he "ripped" Jeffries real good!] D) GEORGE FOREMAN >whom< I "was" campaigning to enter the "2016..." when he was champion. I'll say this: World never seen his like til' then, or since! [If you lived thru that time line you could know about what I am saying]
Jess Willard OR Primo Carnera OR Marvin Hart "worst" champions (though, hard to better Primo's "act" of dieing on the anniversary date of him BIG WIN Vs Jack Sharkey!) [I'd imagine Tim Witherspoon 2 1/2X the "talent" of any Jess Willard at least!]

1.Ali
2.Louis
3.Foreman
4.Lewis
5.Holyfield
6.Charles
7.Liston
8.Tyson
9.Marciano
10.Dempsey
4-10 can be argued for any order those aren't set in stone.
I chose these fighters based upon quality of opposition, strengths/weaknesses, and skill set. The size and weight of each played little role in choosing them.

Flip-floppin'
In the political arena, I'd be referred to as a "flip-flopper. So be it, as I've posted on this thread at least 3 times before with what I'm sure are different from my rankings today:
- Louis
- Ali
- Holmes
- Tyson
- Marciano
- Foreman
- Johnson
- Dempsey
- Liston
- Frazier

Ali; no.1 with a bullet, no question.
After that, probably George.
He was so powerful and none of the other heavyweights could get away from him when he was young and quick.
Brilliant fighters and champions were utterly humiliated by George. Frazier, a true champion, just belted six ways from Sunday, look what he did to a great fighter like Norton.
Marciano would have been killed by a young Foreman.
Jack Johnson and Joe Louis and Sam Langford might have rode out the fight to the middle rounds but the sheer power of Foreman would have caught up with the old style fighters who lacked the modern movement and would have seen them suffer the same fate as so many others, KO'd by the monster.
Styles make fights.
