Top 10 Heavies from best to worst

Yeh sounds about right. Im really hoping that Haye lights it up but im not totaly convinced he will. This Division really needs it!

Who do you lot think is the next heavyweight King? Will there be another one that will earn a place in the top 10?

Klitschko brothers could be a good shout, but i cant see either being put in the top ten. I guess at the moment there is hope with David Haye..lets see how he does.

Probably already done this at some point; but my recent opinion has altered from the past sooo...

1. Muhammad Ali
2. Joe Louis
3. Jack Johnson
4. Lennox Lewis.....YUP! Never thought I'd place him this high myself; but he did beat some top quality fighters and avenged his defeats....the quality of his competion being the deciding factor for me at the time being.

..now, where was I? Oh yeah...

5. Larry Holmes
6. Sam Langford
7. Joe Frazier/Sonny Liston...
8. Rocky Marciano
9. Evander Holyfield
10. George Foreman



...incidentally, #'s 6 thru 10 were off the cuff. It took me long enoug to decide on #'s 1-5....but, I think they're pretty solid and can defend them all.

Why is Jack Johnson so high? most of his title defences were over much smaller men or just unimpressive in general.

some people seem to rate Johnson highly for his wins over Langford, Jeanette and McVea, but if theyre such good wins, why isnt Harry Wills ever rated in anyones top 10 when he beat those 3 guys multiple times?

good point and i totally agree. i did a heavyweight consensus and posted the results up, and my list has changed dramatically but if i remember correctly i had harry wills in the top 10.

That's a pretty good list, i'd drop Langford or Johnson a few places and put Dempsey in there
