Tell people all the time and most every time Californians are down to go our own way.

If we could secede without any drama, we would go for it.

But no, it would have to go down like that time you had to break up with that one girl that you didn't really like, but she LOVED you and was suicidal if you tried to leave her so it would be a huge dramatic event...so you stay for a while longer or indefinitely.

California was founded by the Spanish world. We're different and all that original 13 states, and American history with Lincoln and the civil war doesn't really pertain to us.

We actually didn't even have a vote over whether we wanted in.

I'll just leave you with this...I'm a Californian first and only. When I travel, I especially make it clear and I have never called myself American, ever.

Man, please come forward when you know more about how our state interacts with the federal government.

Here's a clue...it's our own money we're asking for.

California gives more in taxes to the federal government than it gets back in return. We are a donor state.

Alabama for example (and virtually all red states) get more in federal assistance than it gives. Alabama doesn't have Hollywood or Silicon Valley, or San Diego's beaches and tourism sector or the 2.8 trillion dollar economy. So...that means they receive more and take away from California.

Surprised you don't know (but not surprised) about this as this is a very touchy subject with a lot of Californians, and one of the main drivers for a lot of the secession talk.
