The return of "Showtime Championship Boxing" drew lower viewership than usual Saturday night than the series typically attracts. According to Nielsen Media Research figures released Tuesday, the premium cable network's three-bout broadcast peaked at 209,000 viewers during the main event. According to Coppinger 108k out of 150k, 72% of viewers, were 55 years or older. Those numbers are bad even by ShoBox standards. The "boxing is dying" meme might actually be coming true.

This may have been the lowest rating they have ever had.

To not even crack 200k average is no bueno.

Showtime's audience is just old people leaving their tv on when they fall asleep.

Considering the numbers Arum was pulling during the summer series I expected worse considering showtime is a premium channel all in all boxing has had terrible numbers since the start up

Hopefully soon enough people will realize what boxing truly is stateside and how much of a niche sport it is. Very few draws.
