I listen to what's good no matter what region. I prefer East Coast hip hop for sure though. Most NY hip hop heads prefer lyrics over hot beats IMO. So if an artist is from Cali & has solid lyrics/wordplay, I'll listen.

Always wondered this too.. Seems like a lot of music from northern California gets overlooked. Some have barely been getting attention in SoCal.

The midwest listens to a lot of music from here though.

I was/am a big fan of Death Row and now Kendrick Lamar & Crooked I; not so much for the Oakland sound.

West coast has got E-40, Celly Cel, C-Bo, Trey Dee, Snoop, Cube, All frum the I (although he's fell off), 11/5, RBL Posse, T-Nutty, Brotha Lynch, X-Raided, Pac, Mac Dre, Mac Mall. If you don't like that kinda rap you shouldn't be listening to rap at all.
